Beachbody Workouts - Starting Fresh on Monday (The OG P90X)

I've been doing Beachbody workouts for almost 10 years now. It started with the OG P90X and from there i've done P90X3, 22 minute hardcore, LIIFT4, and parts of 4 weeks of the prep, insanity, and some others. Lately though, i just can't find a workout that i want to do. My routine has usually been, go to work, go pick up the kids from school, come home, workout, play with kids, eat/cook dinner, bath kids, hangout with fam, bedtime. But, now that my oldest is 6 and my youngest 3, we are getting into sports taking up most of my afternoons. And when i get home at 7 pm, i'm not working out. So that leaves maybe 3 days during the week to work out, and at that point, it's pointless other than to keep myself from getting sore with new movements.
So that being said, i think starting Monday, i'm going to start waking up early and working out in the mornings, and revert back to the OG P90X routine. I haven't done this workout in at least 6 or 7 years. While P90X3 is great due to time constraints, i feel like i'm just maintaining rather than shredding some of the fat. LIIFT4 is another great workout and i was considering doing this again but to mix it up, i'm going back to my workout roots with P90X. Just looking at the workout sheets has me pretty pumped about it. I may start Sunday afternoon just to get the first workout out of the way.

I re-started when COVID first started and loved it. Hadn't hung with Tony in a few years

How difficult is P90x for people getting into shape for the first time?

Sorry for not checking in on the thread. Yes, P90x works very well. I did say 1 yesterday but skipped today. This week will end up being a “get the sore out” week. My son has playoffs for flag football this week so tues - thurs night is at the field. I’ll restart on Sunday.

How does LIIFT4 compare to P90X, from a strength training aspect?

Ahhhhh! Now I won’t be able to sleep bc I’ll be hearing Tony’s douchey German accent on a loop in my head.

Just an update, started doing OG P90X a couple weeks ago. It's such a good total body workout. A few things i noticed after spending a few years away from this particular workout:
1) If you cut out the warm ups for P90X, you shave anywhere from 7-12 minutes from the workout. So someone like me, who is busy, as long as i do a simple warmup like in LIIFT or P90X3 then i can cut the warmup/stretch time in half. I know 5-8 minutes isn't a lot, but it makes the "hour long" workouts more approachable when they are around 48-50 minutes.
2) This workout works so much more than LIIFT4, P90X3, and 22 minute hard core. It's not that the other 3 didn't do a good job targeting areas, but 30 (or 22) minutes just isn't enough time to hit everything thoroughly. LIIFT4 is great for resistance training, but it doesn't hit every muscle group, and the lack of an ab routine compared to the other workouts is noticeable when you start a new program.
3) I subbed the P90X3 yoga routine for the P90X routine. I just don't have time for 1 1/2 hours of yoga. I do like yoga, but i right now, 30 minutes will do. I plan to do one of the 2-3 week yoga programs on beachbody after i finish P90X.

Ive been considering going back and knocking the OG out again also. Like you I will sub in X3 yoga and have been toying with adding something for kenpo x. I cant stand that workout . Theres a Friday fight club workout on insanity max 30 that I might switch in for that. Im probably a month out from starting it up again as im still trying to get a few extra lbs off and am struggling with elbow tendinitis that makes pullups suck really bad

P90X is better, IMO. More reps, more targetted muscle groups. I find LIIFT4 is good for maintaining, but P90X is good for shredding fat and building muscle. LIIFT4 is good, but like i said earlier, when you jump to another workout program, you realize the muscle groups that were missed.
One thing about LIIFT4, you are basically lifting to failure. If you are pushing yourself, by the time you finish, you have nothing left in your arms. However, i find the recovery time for LIIFT4 workouts is much smaller, which to me, means i'm not hitting as many muscle groups and it's a lot of muscles you are repeatedly targetting.
LIIFT4 also has an ab routine, but you don't hit everything. One thing i quickly noticed going back to P90X and doing ab ripper X, is my hip flexors were very underutilized after doing LIIFT4 for a couple rounds. I'm on week 2, so i've done the ab routine 4 times now, and after each time, i'm still a little sore for a day or 2 after.

You can do MMX from P90X3, which i considered. But i did kenpo last friday and i really enjoyed it. So i'll keep that in the rotation.

My ankle has been slightly bothering me for over a month now, but as long as i'm careful, i'm able to do plyo x, which i have today, actually. I'm not going as strict with P90X as i did years ago, just because i have kids, and other things keeping me from working out 6 days/week. But as long as i make an effort to workout at least 4 times/wk, maybe 5, i'll be happy.
