It depends on your needs..

Do you live in BR but travel? Do you want to be able to workout any time?
If so, Anytime Fitness is for you.

Do you need child care?
If so there are options.
Stay away from Planet Fitness. It’s not a gym it’s an athletic club.
Snap is ok but small.
YMCA and Esporta have pools.
So does SOAC.
Do you need classes?
Are you a beginner?

Planet Fitness for me, but it’s because I travel a lot and it’s relatively cheap.

Not recommended for real lifting.

Most of my friends around BR go to this one. Around Denham the Spectrum is really nice, and if you're around Watson their new Snap Fitness is incredible

Can anyone here provide me a serious answer? I thought about starting this thread on the Health and Fitness board but I figure a lot more people are on here

How about you mail me $60/month and never show up to my house

Would be the same as you getting a gym membership

So much old man nut sack swinging around that locker room back in the day.

I pretty much lived there from 1985 to 2016 and will have a lifetime of breathing problems as a result.

I’m mainly just looking for weight lifting but would be interested in trying some classes as well. I know a couple of folks that do Regymen and have heard it’s fairly expensive

What part of town you looking at? Baton rouge is spread out. I like max fitness, but not worth it if you live north of 10/12.

Right? If it’s a 20 minute drive one way, you aren’t going.

Find one that’s convenient and enjoy it until January 23rd or so when you all stop showing up.

Snap is going to offer everything you need and has multiple locations around BR and surrounding areas and 24 hour access. Some locations aren’t as well equipped as others, but if you’re just lifting to be fit and not trying to compete, it’s a solid option.

Crunch fitness.

Huge and cheap and well maintained with any equipment youd ever need. Even Oly platforms, bars, plates.

Esporta next to Academy on Seigen. Used to be LA Fitness. Pop in and take a tour. They’ll give you a free week to try it out.
