Anyone read this? I just started it last night and I'm enjoying it.

Step 1...pop top off of vial of steroid
As a teen, I admired Arnold When he was in his prime, but once I realized that they all use the shite out of steroids and such, meh.

Yeah, only one of the greatest bodybuilders ever and the amount of time and effort he put into it is just meh

not to get off topic, but the Westside Barbell documentary is not Netflix. It's a great watch, and I definitely recommend it to anyone.

This is short sighted. The drugs help, but to obtain the physique is a brutal undertaking.

It's entertaining, but sort of one sided. It's produced by Westside, so not a huge shock it paints Louie and his training methods in as positive a light as possible and skips legit criticisms of them.
It's better entertainment than training advice.

He did put in a lot of time and effort, but what would he have looked like if he did not do any PEDs?
Nowhere near what he did look like. Nowhere near the size. He would have been a nobody.
Does anyone not agree?

There is not a single body builder that has obtained elite status without using drugs. To down play what Arnold has accomplished is just silly.

This is such a dumb way to look at it.
I’m dumbfounded by the people who can’t accomplish elite level stuff but critique those that are elite.

Nope...do not agree. Tell me, what naturals would have rivaled him, all things equal? Were there all natural guys he was competing against that would have trumped him had he not used gear? No, there wasn't. Everyone that competed against him juiced as well.
You are correct, he would not have been that big had he not used steroids. But if nobody (including him) used steroids, he still would have been one of the best of the best. You're argument is silly.

The amount of steroids Arnold used was miniscule in comparison to today. He worked his arse off, didn’t miss meals and never missed training. He lived in the gym. I know guys on steroids who barely lift and eat like crap and guess what? They look like crap. Steroids are by no means magical in the portions Arnold and Franco were taking, they trained HARD and ate clean.
I see him weekly and he he still looks great, especialy for a 72 year old.

Back then, steroids were used under a doctors supervision

This is why the sport fell off. They sacrificed aesthetics for mass monsters. Arnold and his generation were attractive. Big chests, big arms, big legs and a SHREDDED mid-section for that sexy V shape. Today, bubble guts and blown out proportions.

Exactly, and they look gross IMO. Just google Craig Golias

If we are living in a world where everyone was clean who was doing bodybuilding, then he probably would have the exact same fame he has now. He won the competitions because he worked hard, since it was an even playing field in that everyone was using

Jesus. Why would anyone want to look like this?

It’s even worse when you see them have to wear jeans or pants and a button down, they look deformed. They are always in athletic gear.

Bodybuilding look is terrible. I’d like to compete in Physique sometime next year or the year after though
