These are my only options. Which one do y’all like and why. Iam retired but fit but want some classes to do stretching and some aerobic exercises and then have time on a stair master or treadmill and weights. During the weekday. I worry about having to stand around waiting for machines to open up. Which one is better equipped usually? Thanks.

Got your needs, I’d pick PF.

I’m a member of AF, but my needs are different from yours.

PF for you. If you were wanting more free weights and go late at night or early morning then Anytime would be better.

What city are you located? I can only speak to AF but the Lafayette region has a ton of locations, some better than others. But they all have the basics you’re seeking but not sure about classes

I've been thinking about switching to something like this or even the YMCA. Budget is a concern for me but I really need classes or I'll just stand around feeling uncomfortable. Can anyone verify if either of the above have a high intensity, light.tbweight workout program?

YMCA does offer those programs.
I’ve been thinking about joining because their gym is decent and the money goes directly back into the community helping kids.

I looked at a PF and they don't have any barbells, which was a deal breaker for me. I can lift dumbells and smith press at my little condo gym for free so screw you. I wanted a gym to do deadlifts, squats, and bench press.

I had my membership cancelled at Anytime, because I was using chalk while deadlifting.

It probably didn't help that when the owner told me that gloves are better than chalk, and that he always wears gloves to lift, I asked him if his gloves matched his purse.

Planet fitness is pretty good stuff. And you can bring a visitor anytime for free at any one of their locations

AFs vary greatly between locations. I use the one on Juban, they supply chalk. I also use one in Iowa and they would kick you out for asking.

Hate that you had a bad experience, but thats not all of them. I am sure that not all PF are bad too.

I go to the Y. It’s great, has a pool, free yoga, bootcamp, body combat etc classes. $60 a month. Or I could go to Lifetime for $200. Y is a little more run down but I like it better overall.

I’m looking in Lafayette and I see PF has a special going on. Do you find PF has enough machines to accommodate the need or is there a line waiting to use them. I can lift weights at home. Looking for more cardio and classes.

I go to AF, some locations around Lafayette have classes. There is usually open cardio machines as well.

Reds maybe be an option for you if near middle of town. It’s just not convenient for me
