Any of y'all use the stair master?

Hit 1200 steps after Squats the other day, and hoe Lee shite. I was still a little sore when I woke up this morning. It seems like a perfect way to target the quads and cleaves while getting the heart rate up. Am I missing something here?

That stair master is a bear. My knees can’t take it, but it’s a great workout.

Interesting that your knees can’t take it.

My Dad has done 2 hours on his Stairmaster everyday for years.

He had bad knees and his doctor told him it was either surgery or get stronger knees. He started hitting the Stairmaster and hasn’t had any issues since.

My knees (ligaments and muscle) are strong as all hell, it's the bones and cartilage that are the problem. As soon as I dump 30 lbs, I'm getting it scoped. Eventually, I will most likely have to have a knee replacement.

I do the stairmaster once a week for 30-60 mins. It's brutal. The other one that I use is the Multiplanar Cardio Exercise machine. Totally different movement than all the other exercises and really builds knee stability which is what I'm trying to do.

Stairs will really hit the glutes and yeah, doing them on squat day is gonna suck.

The most grueling cardio for liss. You have to go really slow for it not to suck.

Stairs are a great way to get a good leg workout and burn a good bit of calories.

Yeah back when I messed up my knee so badly I couldn't walk, the stairmaster was one potential culprit because I was hitting it pretty hard thinking I was giving my knees a break from running. There were other confounding factors, so SM may not have been it at all, but I haven't been on one since.
