Finally getting back into an actual gym Wednesday! Been off the barbell for 2.5 months. It's too late to get thru any full prep program. I'll have 12 days to get back in the rythem and figure out where my maxes are now. Any suggestions on how to prep in a short time frame?

yea, look on instagram, pick a posting for mondays he has posted, pick a thick torso tuesday and thick torso thursday and a flex friday one. make sure you add in some squats 2x per week, unilateral movement on the other 2 days so you are getting some type of leg work 4x per week.

here are some examples on what you can expect. it will start the 2nd and week 1 will have a full 5 days of training. you will be off saturdays and sundays. You will have a pr party on the 31st this year. pr prep on the 30th.

he will have a day on the 13th similar to the day 18 example below and he will post numbers that if you hit, you raise your max.

i highly suggest everyone start with a conservative max. can always raise at the half way mark.

this is examples through the years

This week will be my 4th week of BYIC (squatober prep). Doing 4 days a week.

Should I take it easy next week with the squats, or just push through straight into Squatober?

I was thinking of maybe doing Arm Farm next week to give my legs a rest

I feel like last year, he scaled back the heavy days in favor of more reps.

Did this one today and wow that was a lot of squats. 49 reps and the two sets was 290 x5.

And of course I left my headphones at home so I had to listen to everyone's annoying chit chat.

it is alot, thats why i said 3 days per week with the middle day being mainly unilateral

but just some good ole basic strength training that got people big for decades.

Woke up early: didn’t feel like it
Went to the gym: wasn’t feeling it
Had squats/legs: didn’t want to do it
Sucked it up and did it anyways.

345 x 5 was my last set
Hack squat, V squat, quad ext and machine squats.

Feel much better now.

Goodbye Weakness

This one kicked my arse this evening. Not having access to a barbell the last 2.5 months hurt more than expected. I made it thru the 77% set on squats and the 72% sets on bench. I'm hoping the struggle was amplified from working out after work instead of before work like normal. I plan on dropping my TM down 5% for the rest of the pre-Squatober workouts. Then re-evaluate TMs.

This has been me lately(last few weeks) due to some arthritis acting up in my left foot/big left toe.

Just finished Grasshopper W5D2, did my SQUATS with a nice 2 second pause at the bottom. Felt phenomenal. This Squatober is gonna be fricking fun!

BIG Biscuits and BackARMS

Tackled this one this morning after ~36 hrs rest. Sore as all hell, but overall it went well. Went in today with a better plan and hit everything as expected except the last set of close grip bench. Apparently math is hard and I didn't use my planned weight first 2 sets. I am NOT looking forward to 'BIG Bucket of THIGHS & WINGS' on Sunday morning. 74 squats...
