Nice and short this morning. Right at an hour with a 15min warm-up. The heavy sets moved much better than expected. I was second guessing the cardio % as it was just so light. Knocked it out in 3 sets (45,30,25), but damn those last 5-7 reps burned.

40,

I had instant regret when I stopped at 34 on my first set, but if I had it to do over again I would probably do 4 sets of 25.

I'm ready to see today's workout. I think I'll squat in the orange shorts tonight with the garage open just to embarrass my family.

Did the bench feel light for anyone else or is my max too low? I’m doing incline so I adjusted my max and think I may have gone too far.

Mike felt a little light too, but I keep mine light because I don’t want to mess up my shoulder anymore. But I’m happy with it where it is.

Day 7 done at lunch today in under an hour including warm up...

Everything moved pretty/fairly easily, maybe I don't have true max figured out or maybe coach knows this is long week/month... i dunno

4x25 for close grip, maybe could have done 34,33,33 but arms were burning at about 21st rep each round so I'm good with the split I choose.

Looks like tomorrows is already out, I rarely if ever front squat so will need to figure out technique.

cheers

"Tempo Tuesday"

I enjoyed the tempo squats last year. I was excited about tomorrow's workout until I read the note. "TEMPO for EVERYTHING..." The tempo RFESS has me a little on edge. RFESS did a number on my hip flexors a few months ago. I've been slowly upping weight on lunges and RFESS the last couple months. The slow tempo and time under tension will be a test. I plan on going extremely light on the first set to feel it out.

I'm about to pack up and head home. Should be squatting before 5PM!

I will enjoy being a day early this week.

Jose, what do you think...Friday. Is that the timed doubles? I'm planning on skipping it and redoing a day from last week if it is.

That's how it was the 2 years ago. At the end of the 2nd week to adjust TMs. But last year he didn't. I would like it if so.

I'm interested to see where my wife's TM is going to end up. She was moving that 92% this morning easy. I told her about the hopefully upcoming doubles day and she wasn't as excited as me

Definitely the most weight I’ve squatted since last Squatober. Was not terrible. Sometimes I find that the initial lift and walk out is worse than the actual squat.

Ok, 2 sets in and the tempo was hurting my left knee. I stopped and went 4 heavy normal sets 4 reps @ 97%, 4 reps @ 100%, 4 @ 104%, and 3 @ 105%.

Since I skipped tempo, i added two sets to front squats, and went to failure on my last set of bulgs.

At halftime, I'm going to make some adjustments on my TR Max's. I missed half the year dealing with that pinched nerve and now my lifts are coming back strong.

I did go tempo on the RDL's.

Had a beer festival and national football final on Sunday with friends, so rested Monday, so for the first time I’m a day behind my US Squatober family

Day 7 this afternoon, the squats sequence were similar to day 23 of BYIC plan and felt smooth

Will be adjusting my bench TM a bit higher, as 92 felt easier than it should.

Asking the board if it’s okay if I do Day 8 tomorrow morning and day 9 tomorrow afternoon? I know it’s not best recovery wise, but I am keen to catch up again! Otherwise, I can always catch up on Saturday and ensure I get 24 hours after each session.

I had to do that 2 years ago to get caught up and it didn't bother me too bad. I did my two workouts on a Friday so I had the weekend to recover.

Did Tuesday last night to stay a day ahead for now. I can feel the soreness rising with each hour. Workouts like this are why people skip leg day

Will probably do Wednesday's tonight, take tomorrow off, then go back on schedule Th and Fri AM. But a lot depends on what each day looks like.

Tempo squats went great! Front tempo, went ok. Mainly just because the bar was aggravating my neck. RFESS, I went 20# lighter due to the tempo and wanting to not re-aggravate my hip flexors. I did them, but afterwards I looked drunk walking back to the rack for RDLs. Legs were jello at that point. RDLs were solid.

It was a short workout at 1 hour (including ~15 warm-up/stretch), but intense on the legs.

I have never truly done tempo so this should be an interesting one

dropped 3lbs over the weekend due to a stomach bug... I had been trying to eat so much to at least maintain where I was but now I have to go even harder

Day 8 done

Honest question: I don't get front squats? my wrist do not cooperate and feel like they will break off, I'm sure some guidance or technique could help but not trying to get an injury either.... I replaced these with more traditional back squat

tempo's felt good, I didn't go super heavy with bulgarian or romanian as never really done tempo either and didn't want to bite off more than I could chew. Probably went a tad too light...

cheers on to day 9

I’m trying to leave the captions in if I can since there’s always good info in there.

Now back to day 8!

I balance the bar on my chest and cross my arms high around the bar. My wrists are totally disengaged. I am practically hugging myself

That’s exactly how I do them as well. I walk right up to the bar, press my chest up to it and then cross my arms and just lift up. You have to it set at that exact specific height for it to work.

In high school they used to make us hold with our wrists and that always felt so unsteady and painful for me. No one way I’m doing that method the weight I can squat now
