New study is claiming intermittent fasting may actually be bad long term. Lots of question marks out there still as it is yet to be peered reviewed.

Per usual, this study will be riddled with questionable methods. One obvious limitation is that those on some kind of diet are those who need to lose weight. If you dont control for weight and demographics, what is the point?

I read what was available on the link, whatever these "researchers" did, it was as lazy as lazy gets, and shouldn't be called a "study". I believe this AHA preliminary report is what is called a meta-analysis, and like I said, it's lazy as hell, they didn't link anything to anything else.

Did Kellogg’s sponsor this study?

Yeah I also glanced it. Sounds like it was all self reporting and very little controlling for
anything...almost like they just wanted an excuse a nice headline lol

It’s a study based on calling people and asking them about their diet lol. It’s cooralation at best…wouldn’t even call it that

To top it off,it looks to have been done by a Chinese university…don’t ever trust any fricking thing that any university from china puts out concerning diet. All propaganda from their government

It does look like they determined egg rolls to be healthy though. So at least something good out of it.

I'm open to there being some new info that will change my view on this topic, but am just casually assuming that any AHA stuff will be horribly unreliable - if not outright intentionally misleading.

All the plastic in everything will kill us all before only eating 2 meals per day instead of 3 will

dont think anyone is going to change your mind because it is outright misleading.

it doesnt even pass basic logic test.

It seems counterintuitive. Our caveman bodies were designed to adapt to having to fast. Why would it increase coronary risk?

What was the average caveman’s life expectancy?

Good question, but what was the most likely cause of death back then?

And are they the ones that led people to believe that “cholesterol” in the diet goes directly from your mouth to your heart cells and lodges they’re eventually causing a heart attack?

On its face, the idea that an 8 hour fast could be very bad for you seems ludicrous. It’s not that long.

The study’s limitations included its reliance on self-reported dietary information, which may be affected by participant’s memory or recall and may not accurately assess typical eating patterns. Factors that may also play a role in health, outside of daily duration of eating and cause of death, were not included in the analysis.

Then the study is bullshite. If you can’t set the controls, then how can you claim it was the 8 hour feeding window? Anything to get your named published, I guess.

I was just joking btw. I highly doubt they died of heart attacks from skipping breakfast
