Just so many commercials and freaking scoreboard breaks with SVP. I hope coverage is a little smoother when it moves to cbs over the weekend.

Also ready for Day to go ahead and WD. He’s become one of the more annoying guys on tour with the constant injury drama.

The more you're exposed to about anything, the cheesier it is.

I'm good at looking past any of the cheese on the Masters broadcast.

The Masters is the best major. Period.

I will add this tho in the spirit of the thread. The interview and presentation of the green jacket to the champion in the Butler cabin is usually cringey as hell to me.

It was a shock to the system going from watching featured groups to ESPN

Featured Groups: see all 3 guys in group hit, move on to next group, see all 3 guys in group hit, commercial and scores update

ESPN: 3 minutes of slow panning of scenery with classical music in background, commercials, 3 minutes of scrolling leaderboard with classical music, watch Tiger putt, commercial. 5 minute documentary about former champions, watch Tiger tee off, 3 minutes of scenery with classical music, commercial. Interview with random old guy

If I remember correctly, featured group streaming in previous years was only 1 group. This year they have 2 featured groups at the same time. When it was just one group, you watched them hit and then walk to the ball, and evaluate their shot for 10 minutes, which I actually didn't mind too much.. I kinda like watching them evaluate. It felt like a "behind the scenes" showing the method of pro golfers and how they play. Doing 2 groups does provides more consistent action.

I went the year Danny Willet won and Speith collapsed. The grounds are awesome. It's still overrated.

1. It’s a major, that means it’s bigger than the other just a golf tournament tournaments

I agree in that regard, it and the other 3 are bigger than other tournaments.

2. It’s the only major held in the same place every year

Idk what this has to do with anything. If anything I prefer the Open Championship rotation.

3. It’s the most prestigious tournament on tour and still holds the game to the highest standard as a gentleman’s sport

I'm not sure how it holds the game to the "highest standard as a gentlemen's sport" any more so than say the Open Championship.

4. It’s in the best condition of any course on tour

Agreed

5. It has more tradition than any other tournament on tour

GTFO with this. The broadcast and cliches create the "tradition." The Open Championship has the most tradition and it's not particularly close. The US Open has more history than it too.

"Good shots are rewarded. Mediocre shots are penalized."
Just heard on The Golf Channel for probably the 5th time in the last 2 days.

You sound angry, OP. If you don’t like it, stop watching. Viewing isn’t compulsory. Neither is bitching about it.

The Masters on the weekend has fewer commercials than any other major sporting event. Watched a Super Bowl recently?

From football and basketball, yes.

Masters? Hell no. He should be buried below the 16th tower.
