The thought of Tiger AND Phil in the hunt on the back 9 on Sunday after all these years is just awesome. Imagine if they play in the last group together. I can’t let myself go there.

I like that he is back and would like nothing better than Tiger in the final group on Sunday... but I just don't like his chances....

He needs to go really low today to stay up with the leaders this weekend. Course is playing very easy.

It's smart to take South Africans to finish high in your Masters pool.. for whatever reason they play well there.

Phil is probably thinking I get my game right for one last run at a few majors before I ease over into the Champions Tour to wreak havoc and damn if Tiger doesn’t resurface to frick my career again.

The press might be able to will him the title. He is the only golfer anyone should know because there is little mention of anyone else.

He is 7 strokes behind after today and there is no mention on ESPN's leader till 4 articles down and all about the Tiger.

So I would think he'll be the winner of the masters even if he finishes 10 back.

Agreed, it's absurd. He hasn't been relevant for a decade, but the media wants him back so badly. Can't wait till he gets hurt again so I can just watch golf.

Once again, when will you idiots figure out that Tiger makes the needle move for golf like no one else has in ANY sport.

As long as he keeps pulling in MASSIVE ratings he’ll continue to be the center of attention, and if you don’t like it, don’t contribute to his ratings boost literally every time he plays

he was player of the year 5 years ago, and got 2nd by a stroke last week, definitely not relevant.

Not to mention most of you guys don’t even watch golf other than to see him fail

He hasn't won a major since 2008. I would say I'm a casual fan in that I watch maybe 8-10 tournament Sundays per year and more for the majors. Don't have the time to watch more. Woods is a cringey douche and I get tired of hearing about him incessantly. The phenomenon you are referring to about only tuning in for him could not be any more fitting for the fans that drive up his ratings.

He’s at minimum the 2nd best golfer of all time. He’s going to drive media coverage. Just because you don’t like the guy doesn’t mean other people don’t, which the ratings obviously point to.

The Yankees haven’t won a World Series since 2009, the dodgers haven’t won one in almost 30 years, are they irrelevant? They are huge media darlings still, and continue to be because people all over the country love to hear about them

The fact that you think he hasn’t been relevant for a decade means you weren’t watching anyway.
