Thinking of buying a 4-PW set of 2021 Titleist T200 irons…

Have an old set of Hogans that are super rough…IDK why I’m drawn to the T200s, but I am. Wish i could afford the 2023 set, but I’m looking at used versions that show a bit of wear…this is kind of where I’m at: ebay link
Can y’all point me to another brand’s offering that’s similar so I can research some options. I’m not avid, but my son is picking it up and I’m just looking to put something better in the bag we both use.
Thanks.

Srixon ZX 5 MK1/MK2
Mizuno 921/923 Hot metal pro, 921/923 forged, MP 225/245
Callaway Apex
Taylor Made P790
The Titleists aren’t a bad choice certainly but you do pay the Titleist premium and they aren’t considered better than the other options. The 923 forged just went on sale, brand new for $150 a club, probably closer to $120 from Discount Dan’s and you can get the right shaft for you or your son,
loft/lie, brand new grips that will last longer etc, warranty, and no sales tax which would make them the same price as the Titleist.
You could go to a golf shop and try some shaft options and see what is the best . But if you don’t want to get fit, just go with the standard Modus 115 stiff as they fit a lot of people and will hold up to faster swings as your son develops.
Also, I know 4-PW is the “standard” but I would recommend a 5-GW set for almost everyone. With the lower lofts on newer irons, it’s effectively the new standard and covers the gaps much better. 4 irons are tough to hit. Look at something like a driver, 5 wood, 4 hybrid combo at the top of the bag to finish off.

Their website doesn’t show prices, guess I’ll give them a call.
I really like hitting long irons…guess I’ll have to get a separate utility set. I hit an old Titleist 3 wood off the tee, and sometimes off the ground as a second. I feel like i can ‘release’ the 3 wood and long irons, squared up and nice. Limits me to 230-240 though…but it generally plays with the folks I’m with. Inside a full sand wedge I’m a mess.
Thanks for the advice, I’m not hung up on brands so it really helps.

I wouldn’t pay $700+ for a 3 year old set of used irons that may or may not fit my swing. That’s just me though.
Buy some new Srixons

My current set are 1989 Hogans…this is my current setup.

So yea. Fit my swing? Stiff steel shafts and roll from there.
That 2 iron is glorious though. The Sunday bag is the biggest POS ever. frick that thing.

Just got the qi-'s with super stiff max shaft.. couldn't be happier. If your spending the 6-700 range, may be worth looking at new sets, as the first reply said srixons, p790, t200 like you are, Mizuno, qi-10's... and spending on the newest tech/ shaft. Take the time to hit them all in different hitting sessions, and make sure to test different shafts on each. Take a month to do the hit testing, and try to save the gap feel ya have now. As another post stated, 5-700 used might not fit your swing or length or best fit shaft.
To save on a new set, could maybe go 5-pw since some of the 5's lofts are the old 4 irons. If you have wedge and 5w/ hybrid you hit, then can definitely do without the 4.
I got 4-aw and cost me 1,050... with specific shaft. Would have been 9-950 without the 4 and shaft change.

You just need to go to a second swing or pga store and at the very least hit a few different 6 or 7i. You will definitely find some you prefer and some that you really dislike.
I would never blindly buy any club again.
If you can hit the 2i I would just keep it in the bag.

This. Try Mizuno first and Srixon second. You'll find something you like there.
