The Hoa and the Landowners approved a lease for 18 holes and the driving range tonight. Memebership Packets will go out next week. The driving should be open in 2 weeks. The super will have a crew in a few days to get the course in shape.

That’s awesome. I love the layout. The island was the best course to play on weekend afternoons because it never was crowded which may be a reason it went out of business.

This is the worst take in the history of the Golf Board. And clearly you’re a slicer of the golf ball.

What’s wrong with 2? Straight away par 5 that is reachable for longer golfer. Risk reward 2nd if you go for it.

Obviously holes with trouble right are bad.

While this is fact, I present to you...

Trouble off the tee right, trouble off the tee left, trouble about 100 yds from the green forcing lay up for the shorter hitter, trouble left and long of the green, with really no bail out right. Definitely one of the harder holes on the course.

So because a hole in South Louisiana actually has trouble it’s a terrible hole?

It requires some discipline. If you can’t hit a driver remotely straight you have to use a fairway wood off the tee, lay up, hit a 100-140 shot. It’s not that hard.

The trouble left isn’t that bad. If you hit a draw win down the water line and swing it back. If you slice, aim at the raid and let it come back.

11 is really the only hole on the course that is a little unfair. Putting a fairway bunker where the majority of mid to low hdcpers carry or roll a drive to and shrinking the fairway to about fifteen yards. Anything short of that is 175 plus into the green which has a violent slip towards the water and bunker. Pretty brutal

Not every Par-4 has to be set up to bash driver off the tee. 11 is a great hole that requires you to think and execute. And if you’re really feeling it, then you can hit driver and get a great reward if you pull it off.

It is not terrible....it is just hard. Same with 11.

I said a little unfair, and acknowledged it was brutal. I really think its the only hard hole on the course once you play it enough to were the sightlines don't affect your game on other holes as much.

You really aren't saying anything I didn't.

None of these holes are terrible. They do require accurate tee shots though.

Yes, if you want to get close to the green in 2 on #2, you're going to have to not bail left. But there's more room right of the green than you think if you lay up and are hitting your third shot in.

Nothing wrong with 10 at all. I used to hit something less than driver until I realized that the hole opens up the closer you get to the green. Now I just aim right over the bayou and hit driver leaving a flip wedge in.

And 11 has plenty of room unless you hit a big honking slice.

11 is brutal. Some may think it's horrible, I think it's a really good design.

2nis easy with a good drive. Ince had 8 foot eagle putt there.

That I 4 putted

Part of the reason I enjoy the layout is because there are enough holes that make you really have to think. It's not like Beaver, Copper, Santa, etc where you can step up and let the tee shot rip. It's unique to golf in the area.

18 is the hole that whoops my arse the most. Try to cut the corner I find myself in the pond and if you play it safe you got a long way in and I always find myself in a bunker. The pins are always either all the way in the front or in the back too so it leads to some very long 3 putts
