They redoing the drainage and shrinking the size of some of them. They are doing away with some fairway bunkers also. Going to take some time but they making improvements daily.

Just finished 18 out there. Fairways very full easy to hit out of. Miss a fairway good luck finding ball. Greens were nice a little slower as mentioned before but in good shape. Glad the course is back in the rotation

Agreed on all fronts. Rough is us open tough and you almost need a fore caddy to find balls! Also thrilled it’s back

I found 7 balls on the front 9 in the rough yesterday afternoon. It will take a couple cuts to get it down.

Me and my buds, Worm, Wax and Root played it yesterday.

Considering everything, in pretty good shape...bunkers will take alot of work...greens are spongy, fw's are in decent shape, rough is tough - not one ball was lost in rough...don't think its worth $60 right now...but I understand why they are charging that much.

No one claimed it was perfect and it was acknowledged beforehand that bunkers need a lot of work but I dont understand how youd consider it a goat ranch. Did someone from Plaquemine touch your ole lady?

Bumping this for those who've played it over the past couple months. How are things out there?

The maintenance crew is trying to catch on grass cutting. Greens are in good shape. Bunkers are an ongoing project. There have been plenty of people playing on the weekends. It's been awesome to see the activity around the place.

Did they ever catch the frickhead who drove a 4wheeler over the green? That should result in a severe, highly prejudiced arse whipping for said driver.

I talked with the Superintendent this morning and he mentioned he was waiting on some new equipment. Once that arrives he will be able to catch up alot of things around the course. Its been almost 2 months and they have had 3000 rounds of golf played according to him.

Sometimes the course architect has to play to protect par. Either you execute perfectly or settle for up and down par or bogey.

Not every hole should be an easy to moderate to make par.

Over 50 a day with rain outs? That’s hard to believe. Great if true.

quote:

Over 50 a day

8 weeks
6 days a week
48 days
Tee times from ~8 AM to ~4 PM (8 hours)
384 hours
3,000 rounds

That is ~8 golfers per hour. A foursome teeing off every 15 minutes would be 16 per hour. So it seems to be at about 50% of max which is great.
