Why would they do this? That's fricking stupid. I already have enough trouble driving across the bridge to play 18 holes over there. I sure won't be doing it to play 9. Why do they think this is a good idea or smart business?

This basically means it will be played by 90% WBR people

I heard the new owners had a meeting with homeowners last week and told them they had no plans to reopen the course.

But then why buy the course?

Just keep it closed. How much could it cost to operate a 18 hole course vs 9 hole course?

My coworker lives on the course. In the meeting they were told the new owners were in the restaurant and land development business, not the golf business.

Makes sense to me. If you don’t like money own a golf course.

Nice developable land for cheap?

I have tried to tell anyone who would listen golf in Baton Rouge is not an investable business. If the previous owners couldn't run it profitably then no way anyone could.

It just seemed from everything I had seen on here it was a golf group that bought the property.

I can’t wrap my mind around keeping it as a 9 hole course

That really never made sense to me. If you are willing to lose $500k per year on golf there are tons of courses all over you could be a member of and $500k would easily pay for private flights, lodging etc.

Trust me, we all know. You are an insufferable broken record about it.
