Why would he pop off about having 1 more tour win than Greg Norman? I get it that he's hacked off at Norman and the Saudi's for attempting to weaken the PGA tour's dominance. 21 wins is impressive, but Mickelson has 45 tour wins. It seems to me that he could have let that go.

Just taking shots at them and working all the angles to stay “superior “ to the new league. Moynahan is and has talked to some major players like Rory and they all need each other to stick together or things could slide fast with LIV out there now.

Is he married to a girl who works for the PGA? I think he is.

Likely part of his motivation is due to Norman taking direct shots at Rory in a Washington Post article that ran last week. Norman is an insufferable prick, always has been.

Norman just called Rory “brainwashed” publicly last week. I can understand Rory taking a shot at Norman. Even if it’s out of character for him.

Wiki says Norman has 90 total wins with 34 coming on the PGA and European Tours. The other 56 wins came in Australia, Asia and other places that no one cared about in the 70s and 80s. Several of these "other" wins were bullshite staged-for-TV skins matches and select challenge matches. Norman played competitively into his 40s.

Wiki says Rory has 41 wins with 35 coming on the PGA and European Tours. He's won four majors and needs only the Masters to complete the Career Grand Slam. He's also played during a MUCH more competitive era for pro golf as opposed to the time Norman was active, and he's focused his play on the toughest competition/tours. And he's just 33 years old.

Norman was an excellent golfer. Rory is much better.

That's fair. But it's still a bit of a classless move by Rory. Also LIV tour is benefitting from all the free publicity the PGA is giving them.

Oh frick off

Why does this board want the PGA and everyone associated with it to just lay down and let LIV frick them up the arse?

Rory was directly called out by Greg Norman last week

Maybe don’t call a grown man brainwashed to the media for having his opinions and you won’t have to worry about getting called out in return

Rory went out and played a fantastic round of golf. He won a national tournament. Great look for the PGA. But he immediately wants to take shots at another tour. Enjoy your moment bud. Same with Monahan. He had two of his top players battling it out on a great course and he felt the need to come on TV and talk about his competition. Maybe Rory is brainwashed. Can anybody recall a similar situation where somebody wins and calls out a different league, especially one where the winner is punching down? Like, does the premier league in soccer call out the MLS players?

I just think Rory should have took the high road yesterday. Today would have been the day to troll Norman with an IG post or something.

I'm gonna guess that status changed to "used to work for the PGA"...

But I might be wrong.

They tried to seem more “hip” and “fun” on social media and you can tell LIV is all they’re thinking about. It’s pathetic.

Rory has always been a douche. If you follow golf at all, you know his moth gets him at least once a year.

Rory’s childish comments are the exact same approach the PGA leadership has taken in the last 18 months towards the idea of a LIV Golf Tour. Look where that has gotten them. They can try mock and belittle the idea of the LIV Tour, but I’m sure it only strengthens the resolve of those leaving the PGA. Rory acting like a teenager isn’t going to help the PGA Tour in any way.

Add in that while Rory thinks he’s taking shots at guys like Greg Norman and Phil Mickelson, by proxy he’s also taking shots at his long time Ryder Cup partners in Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia, and Graham McDowell.

Rory has spent the last four years sucking up to the elitist media and it’s going to cost him all of his true friends that he built over the years on Tour.
