Recently started topping all of my drives.

Either top them or barely get a piece with a divot in front of the ball. I feel like I'm standing up and pulling my hands towards me, but don't know how to fix. Most other clubs are fine. Any ideas?

It’s simple, you’re picking your head up. Stop doing that

No one can tell you, but my best guess based on your description is you have the ball too far back in your stance and a negative angle of attack. If you are topping it and taking a divot in front of the ball you are hitting it with a descending angle. Make sure you have the ball on the inside of your front foot, slight tilt in the shoulders and focus on an upward strike

Just practice a few drives on the range hitting punch shots. Work it back to 100% swing.

Use another club.
Or see a PGA teaching pro and work through the process.

Weight shift and early extension. Seek help.

Put the ball more towards the middle of your stance and stay down on it. Feel like you are slightly hitting down on the ball.
I’ve got the same issue here and there w driver and woods and it comes from lifting up a bit too early and trying to hit too far up on the ball.
Feeling like I hit down on the ball resolves the issue almost immediately. Usually in 1 swing.

Why on earth would you ever do this?

It’s impossible for you to do this and take a divot in front of the ball

The divot from a topped drive is from the ball driving into the ground bc it hits the bottom of the club face.
The solution you promoted is what is causing his tops. He’s likely got the ball too far up in his stance and he’s hitting up on the ball too quick.
Moving the ball back and having more of a zero angle of attack feel vs a hitting up on the ball at all costs feel, 100% fixes this topping issue on long irons, fairway woods and drivers.

Definitely hanging back on back foot. Finish swing w weight on front foot.

Probably need to take a couple weeks off, then quit…
JK, I’d start w/ 3/4 swing, get it grooved, then work back to full cut. Always back to basics when swing gets out of sync…

I would stay away from these threads. If you’re already yipping drives the last thing you need is the million different pieces of advice you’ll get in threads like these.
Go see a pro or go beat balls on the range till you figure it out. I’ve been in a similar boat to you and tried everything including putting a 3 wood shaft in my driver.
Good luck my friend

Asking for swing fixes on this board is a bad idea.
There could literally be 100 reasons why you’re topping the ball. The wrong piece of advice could make it worse.
You’re also likely getting swing advice from someone who can’t break 90 from the front tees.
Go get a lesson. Or an online lesson through the Skillest app. I recommend Dan Carraher.

Seems like you're trying to crush it. When you start your decent your legs are straightening out causing you to lose that aim you had. Really try to slow the tempo with a nice smooth swing. Also, set up your phone and film yourself from a couple different angles. You'll be able to see what's happening a little better.

Have you tried taking videos of you swing? You more than likely can see what's going on.

Sounds like you're hitting the top of the ball with the bottom of the club face.

Try to hit the middle of the ball with the middle of the club face
Eta: Have someone qualified look at your swing and give you advice. You could be doing it for a variety of reasons and random people who can't even see your swing giving you advice on a message board probably won't help
