Just depends on the group I’m with. My home course isn’t crazy long though.
This. And I often play by myself. I even split it up playing from the tips for some holes and members for others (mostly because I walk and don’t feel like backtracking to the tips when the member box is closer the the previous green).

I will occasionally especially on my home course, if nothing else, to mix up the shots and looks I am getting. I typically play one up from the tips when playing with friends and the like.
My home course if kind of strange in that I'll end up getting better angles and in less trouble from the tips. There is a lot of trouble on many holes past about 240 or 260 from the one-ups, and that's more like 280 or 300 from the tips. I am not always the most disciplined in taking a driving iron or 4 wood or whatever to keep it in play from the one-ups. On the flip side, the par 3's are damn long from the one-ups and are really, really long from the tips (~190 over water, 230, 215, and 190 uphill). All par 5's are reachable from both sets of tees but it's less about distance and more about angles and being able to shape the ball off the tee to be able to get home.

I’ll take that bet
I can shoot within 2 or 3 shots every time and that's more variance in play than length. A quiefy wipe is going to suck no matter which tee you play.

And another one
115 swing speed. If it's less than 7,000 I'm going to have less than 140 into just about every hole.
You've been in my arse for no reason in every thread.

Y'all should play. I would gladly go watch.

IMO you should play to the yardage equal to your ability.
Nothing worse that "hackers" playing from yardage they have no business playing and creating a slow-down for everyone.
General rule, take your average 5-iron distance (be honest!), multiply by 36, and choose the tees that most closely match that yardage.
If you hit your 5-iron 180 yards, then look for tees around 6,500 yards (180 times 36 equals 6,480).

Im not playing a 6 hour round at some shitty Baton Rouge public course with that loser with him yelling "NITRO" after a 240 yard drive thinking he's Dave Chappelle

I am sure he would be happy to beat your arse somewhere in the middle. And I would be happy to watch.

correspond the tee box choice with your average consistent driver distance.
I do not like this method. I know, and play, with buddies who can hit it over 250, but have no business playing over 6,000 yards. The 5-iron method makes more sense to me.

Surprisingly pretty accurate.

Haven’t played one of those in over 20 years, I’ll let you name the course

Maybe not 6, but solid 5+ hour rounds in Central Florida can be had. Tourists want to "get their money's worth" of a course. See it all the time.
