I don’t hit the ball very far but it doesn’t matter to me. Whatever the group wants

At a course I have not played before, I usually play the first tee over 6000 yards.

If I break 80- rare for me, I’ll back up a set for replay.

Played behind 4 guys playing the tips (not the blue tees - the actual tips) at Memorial Park yesterday. 7300 yards. On the 3rd hole, 3 of them were hitting their 3rd or 4th shot at/around the white tees.

Can’t imagine any of them broke 110. Slowed them way down, slowed us and the course behind us down.

7300 yards.

I’m a 7 handicap and hit the ball plenty far off the tee. Anything over 7k is just not fun for me. I can do it, but not necessarily enjoy it.

I like the 5i rule of thumb. It puts me at 6800 which is where I am comfortable

My 5 iron would put me between 7200 and 7300. Played 7,000 today at Texas Rangers had plenty of wedges in. Drove it over the green on a 330 yard par 4.

Here's my drive on 18 from the tippys. 313

Right now I don't play from the tips. I don't play enough to play well enough to play them. But when I was playing a lot I would always play from the tips.

When I play a course for the first time, like on a golf trip with the guys we play from the tips. You usually get the most out of the course from playing the back tees. But again, that's only when I'm playing enough to not look like a idiot on the course.
