On 9 holes that is.

I did much better than anticipated in that I didn’t make a fool of myself.

Seven weeks ago today I picked up a club and started taking lessons. I’m hooked.

It’s always 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. But it’s the best thing ive done for myself since I got sober.

Get ready! UPS and downs galore, but it’ll be the best thing you’ve ever gotten into.

On Wednesday I shot the best game of my life then went back yesterday for more and did horrendously lol.

I fricking love it!!!

DEEP THOUGHTS

You are never as bad as you think you are.
You are never as good as you think you are.
Your name is probably not embroidered on your bag & you are not playing on tv. Enjoy the game. Enjoy being outside. Enjoy being with old friends. Enjoy meeting new friends.
Don’t throw your clubs (they are expensive). When you get frustrated, and you will, if you feel the need to throw something, throw your hat.

Hey man, 64 is a good place to start. Next time try to break 60. Break 55 within the next month. Break 50 within the next 3 months, etc. You are arguably in the fun stage right now. Not hard to see tangible improvement from round to round. Enjoy and don't forget that even good-great players with a lot of experience wake up some days and just don't have it.

Don't over focus on swing mechanics while on the course! You don't need a beautiful perfect swing, only a serviceable one. Play your miss.

Time and experience are almost more important. Once you start to recognize the lies, where to miss, etc the game gets a bit easier. Most of my consistency struggles are still expecting a certain shot from a lie where it's not very likely.

Remember, it's not the clubs. Don't go buying/selling multiple sets of clubs........ Like I did.

This is my second season playing and if you can believe it my score cards are actually WORSE than yours are but I shot par on a 325 yard par 4 last weekend and I mean I could have literally wept tears of joy. Nothing like this game. Nothing.
