I am playing the wrong ball, and I have a lot of them.

Probably most important point of the whole series. Not that anyone around here deals with slow swing speeds.

The results of our test again suggest that many lower swing speed golfers would benefit from higher-compression offerings.

That was my big takeaway. Dead last in driver distance for 100mph swing speeds, and almost 19 yards behind the Pro V1X.

Same, I bought two dozen of them a couple weeks ago to try them out and felt like they were spinning like crazy off the driver. Figured my unhappiness was just anectdotal but that report didn't come out great for TP5 at all.

I was playing around with those charts at the bottom of the article and Srixon Z-Star was the closest thing I could find to ProV1X. I've never played them, think I'm going to give those a shot just based off of MGS report.

I play Z star and Z star Diamond sometimes.

Buddy gave me a Chromesoft LS that I really liked. Had gotten away from Callaway when the initial MGS called them out for being crap

That's a high compression ball for sure.

Can someone explain compression to me like I’m 4?

Basically if you’re an 35 yr old male and have a driver swing speed of 100-110, give me a range of where to look within this graphic.

Why was the Prov1 yellow tested separately? Are they showing that it performed differently?

I have read at other places that it spins less. At least one of their sponsored pros plays it for this and not for the color alone.

Whelp, going to use up this last dozen of TP5's and move on. I liked them but man those seem like some bad testing results

I have only ever bought the TP5 X and not many of them. I thought they were pretty good. I recently found a regular TP5 that looked to be in great shape. It seemed really short. I just figured it was that ball.

Same thing happened in their last test too - back in 2021 I think. TaylorMade gets hammered in this report. Rory etc have to use other balls, maybe a prototype or something. No way he's giving up 10-15 yards of distance. The TP5x wasn't much better.

I think Rory uses the 2019 TP5X. That was a great ball.
