Cypress and Merion have arguably the 2 best logos in the world.

I feel ya. The Augusta logos pictured are bad, imo. The ANGC logo for members is really good.

One of my favorites is the GSGC logo. It’s perfect for the course, considering how big some of the squirrels they have out there are

The BRCC one is sweet though, deserves an exception from the hate list

I'm confused on what is different other than the colors and wording. I'll assume the logo you posted looks odd because it's embroidered, but I'm not seeing a huge difference.

"Best" in what way? There is a difference in BEST and FAVORITE/POPULAR. Yes, it is historical and classic, but probably not even in the top ten as far as a good golf logo design. IMO.

I like CCL’s logo, it’s best without the background.
