18 minute mark

If you are looking to feel a bit better about the weekend W - listen to SVP and Stanford Steve break down the game in their recap pod. Both are obviously partial to LSU and have relationships with people here - but I enjoyed hearing Steve’s perspective as he was on LSU sideline during the game as a part of the gameday crew

Summary for those who don’t care to listen:

- Steve mentioned how impressed he was with our coaching staff. Said BK gets a lot of hate nationally for being a hard arse but he let his assistant coaches coach. Talked about how much he liked Brad Davis with how he handled scheme, mistakes, and sideline meetings with the O-Line. Steve was obviously very impressed physically with our tackles and DJ Chester.

- He also talked about how cool it was watching Nuss in person. Said he was calm and collected, & spoke to the o line after every single drive to talk about mistakes, things they did well, etc. Was very impressed with him

Both talked about their love for LSU and how our fans are the best in the sport. They also spoke about how a lot of people will point to how South Carolina could’ve/should’ve won/bad call/etc but when it comes down to it, there’s a reason you’re South Carolina and they’re LSU and it was more about LSU winning than South Carolina losing. We had to win it and we did.

Fun recap to listen to

Montero doing Montero.

Can someone please tell me how this guy keeps getting opportunities? He has been consistently abysmal for a couple of years now. I don’t understand how we continue trying to use him especially in meaningful situations. I just do not understand how he is still getting chances
This is the most positive SM feedback I’ve seen on this board in a couple of years… it’s not just people lying

The course has been in rough shape and pace of play has been an issue. There is no debating either of those things. Glad to hear that they’ve gotten it back under control if that’s true - must have been a recent deal but happy to hear it
Anyone else lose power in Southdowns area?

It doesn’t take much to make me happy when attending an LSU football game. If there is cold beer available and maybe the occasional somewhat warm hot dog, or an occasional soft drink for a mixer…that’s about all I can ask for. Bathrooms not super clean? It’s a stadium, is what it is. Hot dog not absolutely delicious? Don’t really care. Soft drinks flat? Fine as long as they actually have them which they often run out quickly.

What I can’t begin to understand is how in the frick lower bowl bathrooms (near top of lower bowl) on the west side outside of sections 100-102 - men’s and women’s - were out of order throughout the FIRST HALF of the 1st game of the year. That is mind blowing. Concessions ran out of shite as well and the concession workers were as dumb/rude/dgaf as usual but man the bathrooms being out of order in the 1st half of game 1 is an absolute joke (didn’t check if they had been fixed in 2nd half)

I really hope LSU doesn't stoop to that level in football or baseball

I will say I have had this sentiment about the lights in the past - I can’t stand the way that great traditions have been pushed to the side for modern bs (ex: more piped in music as opposed to the band playing constantly). That said I went to the 2019 Bama game in Tuscaloosa and that was my 1st time seeing these lights, and it is pretty bad arse. Do we need it for our atmosphere? Absolutely not.. but it is a pretty cool deal and makes the atmosphere even more fun. If we never get them I am fine with it, but I am no longer against it like I was prior to seeing it live.

Fournette was outrageously overrated

This is such a dumb take and a dumb thread. In a league where the position is dying, Fournette has run for just under 4500 yards (79 games) with 4 YPC and 34 TDs. Not to mention over 2200 receiving yards and another 7 TDs

Keep in mind he was a big part of a Super Bowl winning team in Tampa and was the workhorse on some shitty Jags teams. Henry is the better back but let’s not act like LF is/was overrated. He broke a ton of LSU rushing records, ran for almost 4,000 yards in 32 career games with 40+ TDs on mediocre LSU teams where everyone knew he was getting the ball on damn near every play. LSU fans can be negative about the dumbest shite but Fournette slander on this board is outrageous

Everyone here would be mad if they had to waste an entire day at a media event where you only got 3 questions. It's insulting and honestly extremely lazy on the journalists who were there.

I went back and watched - I believe the reigning league/cotton bowl champion coach, Willie Fritz, got a total of 2 questions. This guy Biff Poggi is a moron… and also I think the AAC media/the powers that run the league in general suck. Trying to replace quality (UCF, UH, Cincy) with quantity (Charlotte, FAU, North Texas, UAB, Rice, and UTSA) was a mistake
I was there. It was miserable in every way

Word is he has gambled all the Nike money off

Do people in this thread m really believe Jordan is hurting for money? Is this a serious conversation? The money that pours in from Nike annually alone is enough for him to gamble damn near whatever he wants. He’s probably just tired of doing a shitty job as an owner and owning a shitty franchise

Michael Jordan is certainly not hurting for money and will never be hurting for money. And he will make a killing on this sale too
Dumb decisions were made by a lot of people.

I feel absolutely awful for the family and friends of this young kid. He certainly didn’t deserve it, no one intended for it to happen, but 18 year olds make dumb decisions and unfortunately this was one that cost a life.
I have heard stories from a few different individuals in the last year who have purchased brand new Ford trucks from ford dealers and almost immediately had major issues with engine, technology, etc.

Each of them had awful experiences with Ford dealers in trying to resolve the issues as well. Brand new trucks sitting in shops for weeks and awful customer service. I was considering making a move on a lariat this year but the stories that I’ve heard separately from different guys have been enough for me to never want to purchase a ford
Not nearly to the degree of some headliners like Trent Richardson, Russell, leaf, etc.
Sam Bradford, Justin Blackmon, Brandon Weeden

I wasn’t a huge fan at first but he’s grown on me. I’ve said it before but go back and listen to some of his calls from big moments in the 2019 LSU football season. Or the bama game from this year.

When the moments are huge he absolutely delivers. He was ok today but let’s be honest - we were up 6-0 in the 3rd. Wasn’t a lot of big wild moments for him to go nuts in the press box. I am betting he will do a great job when LSU explodes in Omaha.
Manziel and A&M played in Ruston at LA Tech. Think he had about 1,000 yards of offense that night
People on here can find way to be upset with anything. The show is awesome.

Good insight on Fitzpatrick - he is likable. Finau was already easy to root for but now so even more. And for as much as Koepka wants it to seem like he doesn’t like golf, he’s competitive enough to where you can tell how much his shite play/injuries bothered him.
People forget that LSU is 15-0 with a natty in their last 15 when the head coach and his wife’s marriage is on the brink of a divorce.

2023 is going to be a special year
