Cameron Henry had his own executive suite at the Zurich. Just saying

I couldn’t imagine doing anal gymnastics to make myself look foolish to try and get cuck points from a bunch of robe wearing Saudis running a shite golf league

Typical state of LA government to botch this (or as a favor to PGA Tour after “talks” this past weekend).
So let’s get this straight, LIV doesn’t have sufficient funding for LIV Louisiana but 7 of their 8 remaining events are still on schedule?

And let’s see how all those other events actually go….

Should be a nice schedule to keep Rahm sharp and on the cut line.

The Oklahoma 46’ers are likely devastated by this news
Posted on 4/27/26 at 5:13 pm to lsupride87
Also devastating to the 100 billion economic impact this was going to make for Nola

In other words, LIV could not provide a guarantee that its Saudi backing would be in place in June. It's gonna be a week-to-week thing for them. This "funded to the end of the year" statement they made is nonsense.

I love the idea of Brian “wormtongue” Rolapp whispering in Jeff Landry’s ear at the Zurich convincing him to cancel LIV Nola. I really hope that’s the talking point that LIV sends out to its shills. Need Ian Poulter going full Pepe Silvia conspiracy.
Also feels like one of the other events needs to at least happen before you can really use that as a defense? Seems pretty clear that the Saudis told them (according to Scott O’Neil) they’ll have funding through the year, but that they have not actually provided that funding or legally obligated themselves to provide it in a way that assuages the concerns of Louisiana officials.

The state has been sounding alarms about this.
Maybe other states have different agreements, but Louisiana officials weren’t going to be blindsided. If nothing else I have to credit them for being proactive.
Should have never done business with the league to begin with, but that’s water under the bridge.

It’s still very possible they have the other events because Saudis take further pity on them. But it’s also very clear that Louisiana asked LIV to prove they wouldn’t have any funding issues come LIV Nola and they couldn’t do that.
Which is clearly not full speed ahead

The state hosts Superbowls, CFB national championships, Jazzfest, Mardi Gras, Taylor Swift and God knows how many country acts a year on top of LSU and Saints home games.
And oh yea - just hosted a PGA Tour event.
But sure, the funding for a LIV event was going to be a deal breaker. I think it’s far more likely LIV couldn’t show the funding on their end was in place and the state wasn’t going to be on the hook for an event that wasn’t going to generate any money.
