North course or lakefront arena

This has to be a joke! I guess for LIV it's fine but you would have to dump a ton of money to get it in PGA form. The Memorial course in Houston is a public course. The layout is OK but the money they dump into that course is unreal to get it to look like it does. Went last year tournament and it looked unreal! The over seeding is awesome. Playing in NO in June is a killer along with 50% chance of thunderstorm every day is normal.

Did you read the article? They're talking about up to $5 million of public money and then LIV also kicking in some for facilities upgrades.

Not sure after the renovation but before, the tight lies tour guys were tearing UClub up. Really low.

I could see it.
However, I played it the summer it rained every day preventing them from cutting the rough. Whatever that second cut grass is is very difficult. If they wanted to protect the course some what they could let that grow up and in as much as possible.
But I doubt even that would be enough to prevent multiple 60s each day.

guess I’m curious where else in the NOLA metro you’d consider suitable? English Turn is the only option I can think of, but bayou oaks will get a lot more foot traffic.
That’s about it, maybe Lakewood with $5M could be restored to its glory in the 70s. NOLA is the worst golf market for cities with a NFL team and it’s not close.
Fallen Oak or The Bluffs with $5 M would be a better area option.

At the 2024 NCAA regionals at UClub, only 3/14 teams were under par. The weather was great the day I was out there too

Don’t forget they only play 54 holes. I think their record is -23 & that included a 58 (-12) from Dechambeau.
Now theyll definitely break the record for winning team score since they count all 12 scores. I think thats -53

I would expect it to be a much better attended event than the Zürich just because of the location of Bayou Oaks versus Avondale

Even with nothing competing with it like Jazz Fest it won’t draw the numbers the tour event does. Certainly at City Park, the scores will be stupidly low.

Zurich had 116,000 in total attendance last year (30k a day average)
Last year the all time single day attendance LIV record was set at 15k

I certainly wouldn’t expect LIV Nola to have more spectators than Zurich, but where did you get this 15k from?

More than 15,000 fans attended the second round at Bolingbrook, the largest single-day attendance figure for any LIV Golf tournament held in the U.S.
From LIv itself

That makes sense, they’ve had >30k in Australia

LIv is popular in Australia. It’s not popular here. It won’t come in the universe of having 90k total fans at LIV Nola

Seems like it was pretty popular in Chicago. A place where the PGA Tour doesn’t go to

That would make it one of the worst attended PGA event. I wouldn’t call that popular
