83 w/1 birdie in Crowley. I couldn’t hit a decent shot inside 100. Very frustrating to bogie from 85 yards in the dead center of the fairway.

I shot 85 at Pelican Point but could have been a couple shots better because I did this twice.

85 @ Links on the Bayou yesterday. 45 on the front and 40 on the back. If I can get rid of the occasional way OB tee shot that shows up about twice a round I will be in great shape.

Club Championship was this past weekend at Country Club of Canton. Opened with a 73(par 72) with a bunch of missed opportunities. Flighted Sat night and I was 4th in the championship flight. Leader was at 67. Started yesterday in the penultimate group and watched the leader start +4 thru 3 so it was wide open. I just couldn't get anything going. Then got hit with a 1 hour weather delay. Came out and my first hole was a par 5. Spray my drive OB right and card a 9 . It was over for me from there. Made the turn at 43 and shot even on the back to take home 4th. Only been a member for 2 weeks, so not a bad showing; but I had so many opportunities. Had birdie putts of 15' or less on 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18; and only made one of them

90 at The Island with 43 putts...

I’m convinced I’m the worst putter alive. In my last 5 rounds I’ve had 41,41,29,43,43 putts all while shooting as low as 80 and as high as 90. If I could just be an average putter I’d shoot low 80’s every time and probably finally break 80.

I played The Island Saturday. Shot 84 with 33 putts. 8 pars, 8 bogeys and 2 doubles. 5 of the bogeys came with approach shots when I had a pitching wedge or less in. One of the doubles came on 18 when I put my 2nd shot in the drink on the right. Still had a long par putt after the drop, but proceeded to 3 putt.

But the course is in nice shape and I forgot how fun it is to play. Haven't been out there in ages.

Played Pelican Point Links yesterday. It’s in great shape.
Shot an 88(87 with esc).
50 on the front including an 8 on #1.
38 on the back.

I’ve been tinkering with my grip and I had no idea where the ball was going on the front. Figured it out on the back.

79 w/3 birdies and 1 double in the dogfight in Crowley. I found my chipping game.

I started off hitting my irons too well if that’s possible. I was a club long. 5i’s aren’t supposed to go 205. It’s a weird game.

It’s a dumb game. Monday everything worked. Yesterday I didn’t even feel comfortable riding in the cart much less hitting a golf shot. It all added up to 84 with too many doubles, but it felt like 108. At least lunch was good

Played the Lakes course last Friday, and it was in great shape as well. Shot 76 walking the 9 holes twice. Hole #5 got me both times. I always seem to miss that green left, and once again did it twice Friday. Fortunately, I didn't pull it all the way into the trees either time like I normally do. I always seem to play that hole in bogey or worse.

I used to play this course often, but I'd rather go play 18 different holes somewhere else for = or less $. The links was nice the last time we played, but I don't play well enough to justify $70.

I don't need to play there often, but for $25 to walk, I'm not mad at it.

Got the Farmers Classic this weekend. My favorite tourney of the year. Hope it doesn’t get cancelled.

Shot a 43 on the south course back 9 Tuesday with 4 pars. Best 9 I’ve ever played.

80 at SM, no birdies, one double.
Short game kept me from a really nice score.

78 at BRCC. Perfect condition.

It’s tight but not as tight as people made it out to be. There are places you can miss and be okay. And the oaks (even the old ones) are all cut high so it’s pretty easy to punch out if you keep the ball down. Greens were at 11.5 according to the shop. A little slow for them they said.

I’m curious if the range will still be marked OB for the State Am.
