How do yall handle slow playing groups? Today I was playing behind a foursome and they refused to let me play through even though I was playing by myself.

All depenant on the course, the group that’s playing slow, their response to me when I ask to play through, and my general mood for the day.

If you catch up to them on the tee box hop out and say do you mind if play through as you grab your club and head to the tee box. Don't wait for them to offer. And if they refuse for whatever douchey reason bomb it up on them when they are on the fairway.

Jump them and go back and play the hole you missed

Depends if there are a bunch of groups ahead of them too. If it’s just them, I ask. That has always worked. If it didn’t, I would do as chappy says. Skip a hole and play it later.

Is there anyone in front of them? Is there others you could pair up with?

I say this because if you’re a single, it will always seem slow esp if you’re behind a 4some. My group will always let someone pushing us play through, however after letting a couple singles or twosomes play through, we eventually stop. You guys need to pair up. We can’t keep stopping every other hole to let people through.

If they are just being dicks and there isn’t anyone else on the course, then id just skip a hole and get in front of them.

If it is a congested time of day or day of the week, many courses disallow anything other than threesomes and foursomes for the reasons indicated. If the course isn’t crowded, a group should let someone playing alone play through. However, if they don’t (and even though they may be stupid), you can’t barge up to the tee box. Skip the hole. Don’t look at ‘em. Play on and come back to that hole at the end.

Blast it over their heads on a par 5 and then pull up and apologize, you thought they were further away.

My favorites are the ones who leave their carts in front of the green and have to walk back to them, then put their scores down and then drive away.

Usually I try an hit the carts while they are putting

Catch them on a par 3 and ask to play the hole with them. Hit your tee shot; assume your next 2-3 shots pick your ball up and play on. If there's another group or two in front of them just suck it up and practice your putting while waiting for them to clear the box.
