Does it have to be the fairway of the hole your playing?

Usually play courses 5,900 - 6,300
Depends on the course. I'm okay up to about 6,400.
Our league plays 5,700-6,100. Not my choice, but I play whatever they play.

8-9 HDCP

48% FIR
50% GIR
33.6 PPR

FIR have hurt me lately. Have been playing a tree-lined course and even just off the fairway would require a punch out or a low "runner" to recover.

Man you guys are unreal in FIR. The PGA leader is 71%. I'm:

57% FIR
55% GIR
31 putts

5.6 index

Short game is my weakness because I don't play or practice enough. Usually play Beaver Creek.

Well many people don't come out of their shoes trying to hit it 300 yds and concentrate on trying to put the ball in the fairway. The tour today is bomb it as far as you can and if it's in the rough no big deal.

According to GHIN:

45% FIR
38% GIR (yikes)
30 putts per round
99% 2 putt or better
2.8 up & downs per round

Currently a 7.3 HC. Definitely need to hit more greens and limit the "big misses" off the tee.

Had a very odd and extremely frustrating round last week.

Hit 13 GIR. One being a par 5 in two. Shot an 80 with no birdies My putter has been really good lately and my three putts are really down. Three putted three times in that one round That bumped me up to a 3.7 handicap. It had been decreasing a little every week since June.

I recently did the stats on 10 rounds outdoors and 10 rounds on my simulator to see where the differences were. Outdoor numbers are

57% FIR
71% GIR
29 Putts
+2.1 HCP

6600-7100 yards most of the time.

Along the same line, our greens are FIRM.

So I hit some in regulation that bounce off.

Is that a “green hit?”

I mean I'm not a long hitter by any means compared to really good golfers. 70% FIR just seems a little high for amateur golfers well above scratch. I'd say my average carry is around 255/260 and I feel like accuracy with my driver is my strength but yall make me look like a hacker lol. My misses are generally barely off the fairway and I very rarely have a really bad miss with driver.
