Courses I have been lucky enough to play recently:

Frenchman' Bend greens look great - in fact, the course looks the best it has in 15 years.

Calvert Crossings greens are like a resort - look great and play great.

Bayou Desiard - hummm - not so great right now

Black Bear - greens are just fine - nice and receptive - not tricked out or rolled to an unplayable speed - fix up the fairway bunkers and BB would be a top course in the state.

DryJect should disrupt play very little tho. That thing is pretty impressive.

It helps that they just had the club championship.

Greens are rolling quick and true.

No Chennault review? You got every course in Mecca besides it.

Yep, 3-4 days

CCL is planning to get completely away from core punching next year and do strictly DryJect

Dryjetting is great. Little impact on play. Our club has alternated with punching which they did a couple weeks ago. All this rain has helped with recovery. Dropped some sand on them today.

Greens looking pretty good here in Houston, have had a lot more consistent rain this year. All 4 courses at my club are looking sharp.

All of this except for Bayou Desiard. I haven't played there this summer. Love Calvert. Was nervous it would eventually be shut down along with pine hills but it just made Calvert even better with all the resources going there.

This. Played Webb over the weekend....those greens are still awful. The screwed-up part of the deal is that I putted exceptionally well...30 total putts for the round and I shot 88. Lots of good pitch shots were involved.

I played Beaver Creek last week and those greens are in good shape.

I am looking hard at a membership at Calvert or Frenchman's this spring

Both are in great shape right now. Probably will have to roll with FB since it is closer to office and home.

But I love the layout of Calvert

I come home about 3 times a year and used to love playing Calvert. Is it 100% private or can you beg for a round without having a member with you?

Its like putting on ice out here, always. Southwest Colorado. Even though its monsoon season and it rains a little pretty much every afternoon, it has not slowed our greens even a little

I'm pretty sure you can call the day before and get a round at Calvert without a membership. I dropped mine when I moved off but recently moved back to the area last year. I need to get it back but I've been waiting for the Christmas special where the downpayment usually drops from $2500 to $250 or nothing.
