Boss told me to bring clubs on a company trip, but looks like it’s going to be under 45 degrees the whole time.

I love golf as much as the next guy, but 40 and windy seems miserable.

I played once at 36. I loved it. No carry though.

Depends on where you are playing? Pebble? St. Andrews?
40s would be chilly, but would not even try if there was strong wind with it. I've played with temps in the 40s with no wind. Not my favorite round, but doable.
The combo of 40s and wind does not sound like fun to me.

Therein lies the issue, probably playing muni course, nothing special.

Probably going to play because I’ll take any chance I get to play a full 18 since I have young kids and little spare time when home.

Just have to layer up and hope for the best.

I have played in the mid 20s in sleet before.

Need lots of weed for that.

Temps don't really tell the story..it's more wind, sun and rain/wet for me

Ive played in the low 40s and been fine and just last month played a round at Kiva Dunes in the low 50s but in 20+ mph winds and Ive never been so cold on the course in my life.

If it's windy it needs to be sunny for me and anything below 50, in the wind with even the slightest overcast and it's not that much fun for me

my limit is 50F. If I am going to even consider playing in the 40s, it has to be sunny and ZERO wind.

I'll trade you. You can come sit in my 70 degree office next week, and I'll go play golf in your place.

I think I play better in the cold. Played in Biloxi in March that first weekend of March madness during that weird freeze/cold snap. Found myself walking and staying loose more in the mornings when it was 38* when we teed off. Looking back it was a great time and I’m glad we didn’t puss out even with 7:30 AM wakeups after late nights at the Beau. Warm towels from the course helped too.

Don't play in anything less than you age. Also only one element. Cold sure, cold and rainy or cold and windy, nope.

A lot of it to me depends on the wind and if the sun is out. There is a big difference between a calm, sunny 50 degrees than a cloudy, windy one.

Current forecast at tee time is 45, with 15mph winds, partly sunny.

Gonna find my limit today

My rule of thumb: 50 degrees if windy, 45 if no wind (rare in OK)

One time I played in high 30's but it was one of those super-humid, foggy days with zero wind, so it was bearable.

I remember playing the old LSU course when the ponds were frozen. Skipped a couple off the ice. Hands were numb. I think we only played 9. Couldn't take it anymore.

I was on a trip for a company meeting in Philadelphia in February late '90s. Boss had planned for 4 of us to stay over thru Saturday and play a course down the Jersey shore. Woke up to a beautiful but breezy 30 degree day. He gets us a limo and driver for the two hour drive down, get out of the car and its..30 degrees sunny and breezy. Play the front 9 and make the turn around 1pm and its..30 degrees, sunny and breezy. Same thing when we are teeing off on #15. In 5 minutes, it gets grey, the wind picks up and we turn towards the ocean. Finished an hour later, it was 23 degrees with the worst sunburned face of my life.

Unrelated but to top it off, boss decides we need to hit Atlantic City. AC looks like shite on its best day. But crossing that marshy raised area thru the projects on the way in, it looked post-apocalyptic. Driver drops us off at the wrong casino. So we then walk a half mile, only wearing golf sweaters, on the boardwalk at night in 20 degree weather along the Atlantic Ocean.

I didn't warm up until Easter.

I actually love cold rounds too and have played well in them. I am a walker with a push cart though. I think that helps a lot. Really the key is just to layer up as much as possible, and wear an under armour type base layer under your pants. Also a beanie and FJ winter gloves for both hands.

I'll play in anything above 30 degrees or so. Once it gets below that, course kind of gets unplayable ish.

Below 65 for me. Colder than that and I’m watching football or hunting instead.
