That's a bad list. I also don't think that is TPC Louisiana pictured.

Just drunk all around.

I'm good with the first two. Bluffs obviously isn't a top 5 anymore. I've played Kosati Pines and it was nice, but top 5 in the state, if true, is an indictment on Louisiana golf. TPC I guess is top 5, I'm just not a fan.

The Bluffs knows how the system works. It's a ballot filled out and you have to have at least 30 to qualify.
quote:

America’s 100 Greatest & America’s Second 100 Greatest requires a minimum of 75 evaluations accumulated within 10 years, 100 Greatest Public 35 evaluations and Best in State 30 ballots.
The 7 criteria are also weighted evenly:

Shot Options
Challenge
Layout Variety
Distinctiveness
Aesthetics
Conditioning
Character

Most of these are redundant and only one has to do with actual condition. Shot Options, Layout Variety, and Character are all basically the same thing and the Bluffs is actually going to score well in Louisiana because of the elevation compared to everywhere else.

I don't think it's top 5 but it's still close.

Squire
CCL
BRCC
TPC - I guess

Then what, you could arguably put Kosati up there with anything else in the state

Pretty sure that is 18 at TPC. Playing Thursday will verify.

Haven’t played Kosati but Louisiana golf is not great.

How many other states would Squire Creek break top 5?

Top 5? Hard to say, but it'd be top class pretty much anywhere in the country.

Hard to say itd be top 5 in a place like PA which has Merion, Aronamak, Philadelphia CC, etc, but if you put it in Philly you'd pre-sale memberships for a shite load

Maybe your right. It must be the angle or the lense that has me confused.

If you don't count Kosati as LC or Lafayette, there isn't a course from Lafayette, LC or Shreveport in the top 5. Have to think there is something there better than Kosati, but I haven't played a ton in any of those cities.

I'm don't hate BRCC being top 5. I think UClub could also get a mention as a top 5 candidate. Bayou Oaks. English Turn, depending on the conditions.

MCC will probably crack the top 5 post reno.

I would say Oakbourne, but I was a little disappointed in the condition for the US Open qualifier.

$240 green fee at TPC is crazy to me. Thought it used to be around $150

They always charge like that a few weeks before and after Zurich. I'm playing Thursday at 3:45 for 75.

I believe that is an old picture of 18 at TPC.
The bunkers are different now and you don't have that big mound about 50 yards short of the green.

TPC has gone up on big time on membership fees and it appears on everyday green fees as well. They are losing a lot of members over the price increases.
