Yesterday I’m playing at a nice course out of town and just cold topped it off the tee 4 times that round. I’ll go 10 rounds and do that no times and then have a round where it happens over and over.

The frustration is the swing feels the same, and on the next tee the ball is striped like I actually know how to play.

One of the guys in was playing with yesterday even said “maybe you should not swing so hard”, I almost punched the guy

This damn game man

You’re over 1000 ft away from a hole 4” wide hitting a small ball with a bent stick. In between you and that small hole is water, trees, sand, long grass, etc.

Golf is easy.

Maybe you should have listened to the guy’s advice.

Don’t worry about then tops dawg. Figure out what’s going on You’ll be better because of this blip.

You can always hear advice from fellow golfers, but you don’t have to listen.

I could have written this very post myself. The inconsistency is what drives me mad. Flirt with breaking 80 one round, topping drives the next. Tiger Woods on the range, Tiger Boudreaux on the course.

Oh boy. So yesterday I went 18, on the front 9 played well, 2 birdies, one of them should have been an eagle on a par 5, just on the edge of the cup, couldn't even see grass, if I farted on the ball it falls in.

41 on the front and I've never broken 40 so I'm thinking today is not the day I break 80.

Kind of forgot about scoring and just making shots. Eagle on 15 where I stuck a 200 yard 4 iron 3 feet from the cup. It was at that point I realized if I could come in 1 under on the final 3 holes with a par 3 and a par 5 to go I break 80.

Implosion. Carded and 84.

Went out for 9 today and shot a 47 and feel like I want to quit the game. Ugh.

I lied. Hitting the range tomorrow. Gotta figure this out.

It's just so frustrating yet so addicting.

This is true for me as well.

How does the same guy splash one, and then pure the next shot?
How does the same guy 2 putt from 50 feet, and then three putt from 20 feet?
How do you make a sandy, and then send your next sand shot OB?

A guy who finished T17 in this week's Korn Ferry event shot 75 in his first round and 62 in his second. That's a 13 shot difference from one day to the next. If some of the best players in the world can have that sort of variability day to day, how can I get upset about my game when I play once or twice a week?

If I lose my shite because of frustration on the course, this is why. And it happens more often the older I get. I can key on what produced a bad shot, but those days when the swing feels great and I'm inconsistent..

Shot a 101 on Saturday and an 83 on Monday. Same course and weather conditions. Swing didn't feel any different at all.

Went 9 tonight. Crushed driver off the tee. Wedges failed me. 6 over, 43. There was a time I would be happy with that, not now. Should have been sub 40.

The struggle continues tomorrow afternoon.

Friday went 41-42-83 with a serious look at 40s on both front and back. 43 on 9 Sunday golfing with my wife, 8 year old daughter, and 6 year old son, so some points there for being a bit distracted but that was a lot of fun.

My daughter can legit outdrive my wife who is not that bad. Daughter is playing her first year, did Jr league and finished first in her year end tournament, would have finished 2nd against the boys too. She loves it and is pretty good. Very proud of her.
