Do you have a time in your life when you played your best golf?

Was it a particular summer or year. Age, courses, weather, timing, anything that you just recall, “that was the best?”
Prob an old folks question.

Few years out of college. Working a job that had corporate membership at UClub. No kids, no wife. I could go play or practice after work until sunset almost. Got down to a 4.

High school
Just from the ability to play nearly every day. Was extremely lucky that public golf if you were a junior in Portland you could play city courses, which are world class, for $5 and even Pumpkin Ridge was only $25 for juniors.

I’m at my 52 week low right now.
8.4 index.
I probably was slightly better at some point when I was younger, but I never was a low single digit.
I play better with warm and dry conditions.

Late 20s. Had gotten to +4, played a lot of tournament golf. Missed match play in the mid amateur by a shot after going triple/double on 10 and 11 on the back 9 because I just plain got stupid and tried a hero shot when i shouldn’t.
Blew a disc shortly after. 6 months off and surgery, lost 30-40 yards off the tee and was never the same. Playing 1-2 clubs longer into everything is a losing proposition when you’re a mediocre putter.

Back in the late ‘80’s, while in the Army. Stationed in Hawaii, brigade Sargent Major would take me to Leilehua Golf Course @ Wheeler Airfield, Navy-Marine Golf Course, & Turtle Bay Golf Course every week we were in garrison. For 3 years, I was no more than a 5 handicap…

Early 20s, tried to get on Tour. Luckily Dad was OT rich and bankrolled me. Crazy old man loved me enough to throw away a lot of money but I think he enjoyed the chase more than I did!

I was in Hawaii during that time . Spent a lot of time on Navy Marine and Kaneohe MCAS golf courses when I wasn’t deployed. Good times.

Right now for me. I’m 36 but started some game changing lessons like 4 months ago. Wish I would have done this 10 years ago.

It’s definitely not at the current moment. Normally around a 8-10 but last two rounds have been a joke. Took a two week break. Gonna go to the range this morning and see if the stink wore off

I can almost pinpoint a day. Went out for a late afternoon 9 in early April 2014 and shot a 37. That was wild.
I didn’t keep a handicap at the time but I’d estimate I was 5-8 most of 2013-14.
Life events happened and I didn’t play much for 6 or 7 years. Started back keeping a handicap in 22 and was about an 18 and have chipped it down to a 12, but damn it’s hard to dedicate real time to it when you’ve got a family and are trying to grow a couple of businesses.
I do know a guy who just retired last year and shot a 69 a couple weeks ago. So there’s still hope for improvement.

About 20 years ago. I was practicing 3 to 4 times a week. My only problem was there wasn't a quality course around to practice my short game. Got below a 7 handicap and qualified for a couple of Mid Ams, and shooting in the mid to upper 70's anywhere I played. Now I can't break 80.

65 been playing 60 yrs.I fight muscle pain to both upper and lower back and golfers elbow periodically. Nowadays a pain free round always leads to most pleasurable experience and more often than not good score. It’s the simple things……

In my 40's.
I never touched a club until I was 30 and my Boss said that I could play golf on Fridays with him and our customers or work.
I chose golf. For some reason I picked up the game very quickly and got down to a 5 hcp by age 45.

Mid 30s I was a my best. Plus 3.5. Was a plus for almost 15 years. Once I got in my 50s my swing speed dropped and sat around scratch and currently am .7.
