Where'd you see that quote?

I just added the ESPN article in the OP and didn't see it in there. Not doubting you...just wondering.

So the question that needs to be asked is if LIV would have allowed those guys to play in a PGA Tour event - if the judges granted the TRO

I think LIV had already come out and said they could play as long as it wasn't on a LIV weekend.

Judge also said that the players have a reasonable expectation of winning the underlying antitrust suit:

But maybe they didn’t want to be the bad guys and new that their contracts would not allow for that and just wanted to Tour to get a black eye in the public

ETA: If the judge is correct

Final results could be years from now.

The Tour should string it out.

The only problem with that is the Saudis have more money than the Tour.

the defense got the judge to say that she could see the tour suing LIV for being a monopoly.

I could see more LIV Players dropping out of the suit going forward .

Things like this is a big distraction and could affect their play and past relationships.

That would be fine with me. I hope the whole landscape gets blown up and players can pick and choose whatever events they want to play in regardless of where and sponsored by whom.

Probably never happen.

Sponsors of tournaments typically want to know the types of fields they will get.

Equipment companies will have decions to make at seasons end.

Viewership numbers means total marketing impressions for their products.

Right now a 3rd party company is doing repairs and equipment adjustments for LIV players.

Will manufacturers commit new resources like tour vans to such limited events with smaller audiences ?

I wonder if Norman is negotiating with ABC to televise their events?

I would say the DP tour is the second most prestigious men’s tour around. Look at their purses compared to the tour. Eyeballs matter.

When the LIV tour gets a TV contract, it will really be game on. They will continue to get better players, either through the college ranks or from the PGA tour. If the majors figure out someway to get LIV players into their tournaments, the LIV will be a serious tour.

Heard on Katrek and Maginnis today that many of the younger LIV players won’t get prize money until they win the amount equal to their signing bonuses. Never heard that before.

LIV is absolutely terrible tournament golf for a viewer.

Tiny field, paid to show up, and no winnings for some of the players? This shite is a joke.
