I’ve done three fittings with Buddha. Driver, Putter, Irons. Super satisfied with every experience. The work is fast, high quality and has gotten me results. Not once has he pushed a brand on me and he talked me out of a new driver head and focused on the shaft when I did a driver fitting. For my putter fitting, he said “this is the type putter that will best fit your stroke. Here are four different companies that produce a model that will work for you. If you want to order from me, I’d be happy to do it. Here are your specs if you want to buy it elsewhere”

My Club Champion experience was phenomenal! Prices of the clubs were in par with any major retailer. You just need to go in there with the mindset that there is a premium to pay for good shafts, which is honestly the most important component of a club that can make the biggest difference.

Their prices are all a la carte My price for my mizuno irons from them was $2500

I bought them with exact shaft and specs from mizuno through Edwin watts for $1250

Quote for driver, irons and wedges was around $3800

Huh? No a whole set. The video on golftec says they upgrade your shaft with custom shaft at same price as the stock shaft. True ??

Many companies offer upgrades free of charge. I'm talking about manufacturer, not club fitter. And golftec will likely wanted a lesson pack added if they are paying $300+ extra for aftermarket shafts. I wouldn't trust it on paper.

Club champion may be your best option overall. I would have vouched for Bebu a few months ago, but he lost his reputation when he didn't put the customer first and got blasted on here. I've been to him a few times and I still trust him with finding what's right for my game. Full disclosure: he's never tried to fit me into mizunos.

I've done a driver and an iron fitting with Buddha, would highly recommend. Dude knows his stuff, not pushy, and got me something that works best for me for a fair price. Very happy.

My clubs have always been at retail. I don't know if they price match or not.

So at what handicap is a club fitting justified? I'm high single digits and I buy used clubs off the rack. I played with knock-offs from 1997 (Tagor Made Burner ) until this past year. I've never paid attention to grips or shafts, other than playing stiff shafts. My drivers are graphite shafts and my irons are metal. I don't know what they are. A fitting seems like overkill unless you are a scratch golfer from the tips. That ain't me right now.

Mid to low teens if you are playing frequently.

I did my driver/wood fitting at 13 and everything else around 9-10.

Thanks. Good to know. Maybe I'll get fitted.

Just curious I am getting a very basic fitting tomorrow at Golftec for irons, its free and part of my lesson plan. I am not planning on buying new clubs I just want specs for whenever I buy new clubs since I've never bought clubs not off the rack. My question is do you typically spec out shafts for steel shafted irons? Is there a stiff/regular shaft for steel or is that more for graphite driver shafts?

Definitely worth it at your handicap if you care.

Im a mid single digits because I don't play that often and never practice. I got a new full bag because mine got stolen earlier this year.

Irons, yes the shafts make a difference, but getting 500 less rpms isn't going to be that big of a deal for an 8 handicap.

The biggest difference is driver. I feel so free with the driver with the correct shaft. I've almost completely taken the duck hook out of play with the new shaft. That was my really bad swing miss before, but with a really tip stiff shaft I feel like I can't even make that swing.

Getting fit is expensive, so its about the value you put on golf. If you can afford it, absolutely do it. If you don't want to drop nice change on clubs, dynamic gold s300/x100 are going to be fine shafts for 95% of golfers.

I'm going to get fitted for irons Saturday. I'm high single digits and this will be my first fitting. It's 1.5 hours in the simulator

I certainly care about my score, I just always thought fittings and such were vanity for a player like me. Cost is not an issue, I'm just a miser, handed down from my Father.

I'm a high handicapper and am playing way better with my new clubs. Definitely worth the fitting. Golf is hard enough, the right equipment is very helpful.

ETA: of course, now I'm out of excuses when I do hit a bad shot.
