Santa Maria feels like it’s running about a 2 right now.

I had read some comments here about the condition of Carter. I played today and was a little disappointed. The fairways were good, but not pristine. The greens were inconsistent and several of them had some dead spots. The bunkers were trash. Some of that is from the rain, but some didn’t even seem to have sand in them. I had a few bunker shots that were all clay.

Don’t get me wrong, it was totally playable and still very nice. It’s just not what I would expect at their price point.

Beaver Creek in pretty good shape. Just hosted 2 USGA events this week.

What’s up with Santa Maria’s greens? I played this past Sunday and there were at least 2-3 greens with lots of rough spots.

It's Santa Maria! I've been there one time and that was once too many. Never again.

Carter has been going downhill from its peak pristine conditions from about 3 years ago. It's like they don't even keep up with it anymore.

I’ve played there a few times in the last 6 months and the greens were pretty good so I was surprised. Looked like Webb greens.

I noticed after they cut the greens a few days ago it looked like they were scalped by an uneven, dull blade. They're still slow as can be.

I’ve heard it’s some sort of bug that is resistant to insecticides. I can’t comment on the poor adjustment of the mowers but that wouldn’t surprise me. If you don’t like it frick off and join a country club (not my words but my interpretation of the movers and shakers on the brec commission)

I posted some generic info and got 2 DV's... Care to elaborate? I am there 2-3 times a week. If you are looking for stimp meter >10 then no they are not.

BC problem of late has been wet fairways due to excessive rains. Fairways are actually in pretty good shape too but need to dry out.

I was wondering the same thing. Random DVs with no comments are not helpful.

On an unrelated note, I haven’t bothered updating the OP lately. Seems like just letting the thread run works just fine. If people would like the OP to stay updated, I could do that.

Played Pelican’s Links yesterday and the greens were fantastic. Best I’ve seen them.

My score did not match the greens quality, unfortunately .

Beaver Creek is in the best shape I’ve seen it in quite a while, especially the greens. They were full and fast. Fairways good as always. Course is firming up quite a bit with then recent lack of rain. Wish BREC would cut it out with the beach sand bunkers.

Greystone was great today. Looked fresh cut but rolled true and held pitch shots. Course is fantastic overall

It does look great, but I just haven’t gotten used to this new speed. I’m used to their old lightning fast greens and now I feel like I have to hit the ball fairly firm.

Not a knock on them at all. I just suck.
