Manufacturers marketing departments probably crapping their pants right about now.
If there would have been Bifurcation, that’s when the crapping of the pants would have started. Think the manufacturers are fine with this.
Eta: and the best scenario for us. We won’t be paying $120 a dozen.

I'd rather them introduce different style tournaments vs this crap
Make one of the majors hickory shaft clubs only.
Do a tourney with 10 clubs max vs 13 etc.
There are ways to stretch the expertise vs just pounding the ball.

I agree with the rollback. But, I’d watch the different style tournaments. I want to see players having to make shots under pressure. Crank up the difficulty and the pressure.

tinker with equipment to regain the distance
Don’t think so because they are reducing the max distance of the ball while increasing the swing speed so in essence the clubs will be limited as well if they are “too hot”

This would brle fun.
Make pros hit a wound ball.

I'll just play with my old Kirkland's if they want me to hit it shorter.

I miss the feel of the balata ball.

All the advances in distance over the last 30 years have come from the golf ball.
Well this is just a horribly incorrect take.

Bad take by Rory, a dude who cannot relate at all to the average am.

I have a Taylor Made tour preferred metal wood that was bought around 1993 that I can get the same ball speed and distance numbers on my launch monitor as I can get with a stealth 2.
I’m not nearly as consistent with that older driver but every time I try it out I get 20% of the shots with the same exact distance numbers as the new stuff.

I have shoes from 2019, drink beer from tee 1 to 18, have absolute goat ranch lies, standing water in the bunkers, and ride a cart
Acting like “but golf is great because it’s the same as the pros” is such a stupid ducking statement for 99.9% of amateurs

It really is silly to compare myself to a PGA tour player.
The elite golfers are better as far as the science of golf, but club players have not improved in decades.
Rolling the all back for me is ridiculous. Me being able to get 142 yards out of a 7 iron is not harming the game.
Make the pros play with 10 clubs. The manufacturers won’t stand for it.
LIV should not roll the ball back as a differentiator. Would make me a fan.

I guess that most people are not going to Dicks to get Rory’s Stealth 2 then adding a $400 Velocore shaft afterwards..
Other than that I have no idea.

Guys are playing golf balls that aren’t available to the general public, among other things

frick this and frick Rory. So, he is only going to be able to hit it 310 now? The long hitters are still going to have a huge advantage.

I only encounter the ball flying to far when I lay up to a hazard.
My ball speed increases as it rolls towards any boundary or hazard.
