Anyone here use a Chipper? Thoughts?

For reasons unknown, I have started getting targeted ads on various platforms for this Odyssey Chipper club. No, I didn't Google it or anything. I guess the Golf Gods somehow divined that it is a need for me?
I hit a fair amount of bump and runs (because - lets be honest - I suck at hitting the green) and use a 7 iron fairly well for that shot. It's a running joke in our golf group I hit the 7 so much in lieu of a wedge.
Has anyone used one of these things? Is it worth a try if I am fairly successful with my 7? My only complaint on the 7 is that sometimes, depending on the lie, the ball will check up hard instead of releasing. If the rough is really challenging, I use a Hybrid (underrated club for that shot BTW). This thing looks basically like a hybrid head on a putter shaft to me.
Any in-person reviews / experience would be appreciated before I drop $200 to try this thing out.

Or ads targeting you for any and all golf equipment whether it’s useless or not

I think there are cheaper options out there.

Got a buddy that I play with from time to time that uses one. He's close to a scratch golfer and if I'm being honest probably the only person I've ever seen that has broken 100 use one. Normally viewed a bad golfer club. He uses some old one he got for $20 somewhere.

I thought I had heard this someplace.

Don't let that deter you from trying to improve your game though. I didn't even know they made higher end chippers.

The 8 iron already in your bag can probably hit all the same shots as a separate chipper club.
