I would like to go on record as saying no LIV event will be played in Louisiana in 2025.

Well.. that’s gonna be LIV’s decision if so because outside of TPC I don’t see a single course in the state turning down $10M.

I wish oak harbor wasn’t in Slidell. That course has a great layout and if they had a 8 months and 10 million to get the course into some kind of shape it could be a decent place to host. Biggest problem besides the terrible shape of the course is its in Slidell.

If I was a member at ET I would be knocking on the GM's door saying Why the frick are you not taking this while our golf course continues to fall further behind. $10m bump in their revenues, over the next 10 years if properly managed could bring ET back to a high quality golf course. It has the bones to do it.

ET owner cares more about putting money in his pocket than putting it in the course. There will be plenty of people looking to host events around the super bowl where ET can make some good money without having to put any out upfront.

I could see bayou oaks turning it down just because of their relationship with the fore kids foundation.

ET has no reason whatsoever to turn down 10 million. Would be a big failure on their end if LIV offers and they reject it.

Bayou Oaks definitely wants to land this but the problem I'm hearing is the driving range needs substantial upgrading and that might not be possible with a March date looming. If I were a betting man--City Park's Bayou Oaks course will beat out ET for the event.

I missed something. When did this go from Super Bowl week to March? is there a link to a story confirming this?

I’m familiar with the facilities, but what’s so bad about it? Is it not long enough?

They had a similar set up at their biggest event in Australia & Phil was hitting off mats on the 2nd level.

It's way too short for one. There's no real grass hitting area at all as of now. There's a single "bunker'" if you want to call it that.

It would take quite a bit to improve it to a level that professional golfers would expect.

Huh?

-The parking situation is abysmal.
-It would be a giant cluster for spectators trying to get around since the holes run between houses.
-The clubhouse is a dump.
-There's no locker room, showers, etc
-The course tips out about 6900 yds k from the tips and they simply don't have the room to add another 400+ yards

I can't think of one thing about that course that resembles a decent place to host a pro golf event even if the entire course itself had a facelift.

Money Hill should host the LIV event

This is probably the best course in the general area to host, with minimal upgrades needed.

Wonder if LIV thinks it’s close enough to nola

If it does go to City Park what’s the winning score?

-25 for the three days?

That course just does not have any defense at all. Wide arse open everywhere and flat greens

I would definitely take the under on that bet.

Yeah looks like it maxes out at about 300 right now. There’s just an empty lot behind it though. Surely the city owns that so extending it shouldn’t be a problem.

Updating the hitting turf & short game area doesn’t seem like that big of a challenge.

Timing still seems interesting bc I figured they would want to be here during Super Bowl or Mardi Gras.
Maybe they liked the Zurich numbers, but I don’t think they’d do close to that

The winner averaged -5 a round at Valhalla. City park would be multiple levels easier. I think the line for win we would be set at -23.5 or -24 for 3 rounds

In NOLA that’ll be 20 million and take 5 years
