re: Will Halo 6 get any anticipation/hype? I think it will be much more subdued

I would LOVE a halo series that takes place millions of years in the past, with you playing as a forerunner soldier fighting flood.

In the Halo universe, humanity was at one point just as advanced as the forerunners and actually fought against the flood before the forerunners did.

first off halo 5 is amazing. The best one yet.
I'm sure it's doing better than the previous Halo iterations, right?

We both know the answer to that one, and I can enjoy 5's MP, but it doesn't have the same Halo feel.

MCC was a colossal bed shitting out the gate. It's working fairly well now, but there are still bugs.

343 needs to go back to the roots and stop trying to reinvent the wheel. I've been playing Halo since CE, and I'll never understand why a company tries to make a game that will only divide a dedicated fanbase.
Sprint is a wonderful example. There's pretty much 2 sides to the fanbase. Those who don't care if sprint is or is not in the game, and those who hate its very existence.
Logically, the best decision would be to axe sprint and keep as many happy as possible, but nah, lets keep reinventing the fricking wheel. Note that there are other examples.

I still can't believe how bad they shite the bed with MCC.

That was such a big chance for 343, and they massively fricked it up.

Halo went to shite when Bungie stopped making it...Bungie was SOOOOOOO ahead of everything else at that time, it's mind numbing. And that's all aspects: multiplayer online matchmaking, the game concept, graphics, user interface, post game summary, ranking up system, an area to view past matches and stats online.

One could argue that Call of Duty is trying to be like Halo now with all their futuristic stuff.

As of November 3rd, that will be a negative. COD is coming home to what made it great.

Hopefully Halo can do the same. Like someone said earlier, Halo 6 should launch with MCC as a Games with Gold freebie. MCC is solid now.

It wouldn't have been any different. 343i is basically just all the integral creators of Halo condensed down into a single, smaller brain trust. Bungie's influence may have made the games more like Halo 2 (cinematic driven/action oriented) but ultimately, 343 IS Halo.

Nah, that would mean no Reach, which had better MP than 3

I couldn't stand Reach.

4 and 5 do have a different feel than 1, 2, and 3. 4 and 5 feel much more like any random AAA military shooter while the previous games feel like Halo. That's not to say 4 and 5 are bad. I enjoyed both games. The multiplayer in 4 was atrocious, but 5 is much better. These days, Destiny MP is basically old school Halo.

I just think Halo was riding off a wave of nostalgia that has finally come to shore. I grew up with a lot of great PC shooters, and I never saw the Halo franchise as being revolutionary or above and beyond what I was already playing on PC, but for a certain group of people, it was their first foray not only into the FPS but online gaming as a whole. Halo 2 and 3's online community was massive. I remember playing Halo 3 via our community college's LAN. There was always someone else playing 24/7 in a school with only 12,000 students.

frick no. That was the game they introduced a gun fire "bloom" onto the BR and Sniper Rifle. fricked up game play entirely.

Masterchief and friends are damn near 9 ft tall and weigh a metric frick ton, a bloom on those weapons makes no sense.

Yeah, I played the shite out of reach, bought 4, played the campaign... Jumped on multiplayer for like 3 hours, and then never went back to Halo

I loved everything about reach. No idea why it gets so much hate.

I love 5. Still hop on and get in a few matches from time to time. However I'm not a halo fanboy and can't compare it to much else. I played the shite out of 3, and played 2 a little at friends house and that's it. Never touched 4 or reach

Yea for noobs. It required more skill, which meant matches ended with a lot crying

Ah yes, bloom, where even though it is in, someone could still pull the trigger as fast as possible and get away with it because of RNG. So much skill involved there.

I say this as a guy who got fricking inheritor in Reach.
