When you have morality options, do you play as good or evil?

I think I was surprised to see that a lot of people play good characters. I always go as evil as possible. The only exception so far is RDR2 where I played a little more true to Arthur.

KOTOR: The most evil Sith to have ever existed.
Fable: Pure evil through and through.
Mass Effect: My Shepard is the biggest bastard in the galaxy.
Fallout: I am the terror of the Wastelands.

How do you play it?

RDR2, I sat on top of a rock cliff and sniped people just walking or riding the trail. I think its fun to kidnap people and throw them on the horse. But I usually tr to do kind things in quests.

I'm a monster.

ETA: if the character is already made, I will do my best to try and play how I think the character would play, but still lean more towards evil side. If I get to make the character completely from scratch, as evil as allows.

I'm autistic about seeing all of the different dialogue interactions in games like that so I usually end up doing a playthrough of both just to see everything.

It's why I love Dragon Age: Origins so much. I was still finding new interactions on my 14th playthrough.

I usually go good path first and then complete demon on my next playthrough in games like that.

Games like rdr or gta I just go full demon time from the jump

Yeah, this is usually how I play through games with good and evil options.

I play good because there's usually some benefit to it. More people will talk to you, cheaper prices at shops, perks, etc.

To rely on Mass Effect terminology, I nearly always play an apex paragon. I'm not a slave to it, as if a paragon decision is clearly naive or stupid, I won't pick it, as my character is always reasonably pragmatic. But as a rule, I don't kill people unless necessary, I'm not a dick to people unless necessary, etc.

Hell, I recently started playing Dark Souls II, and in the starting area, there's a pack of little kobolds (had to look up the name) running around a clearing. As soon as I saw them, I locked on one and started strafing, only to realize that they wouldn't attack me. Ran around a bit to make sure, and they would just skitter away.

Never so much as swung my mace at one of them. Just left them to run around the clearing.

And that's in fricking Dark Souls...

In RDR2, I wanted to play the good role, but all the fun side stuff required me to be evil. I'm just sitting there grilling some meat at my camp in the middle of a field and a wagon comes by with a lady in the back screaming for help. Let's go see what that is. Of course she's a criminal and I get dinged for killing the two guys driving the wagon. I could be "good" and ignore these random events, but then I wouldn't be playing the game. I did drop that guy off the cliff near the very beginning because I didn't want him to rat me out. That was more self-preservation than being "evil"...ok, I miss RDR2...looking forward to Starfield.

Yea, I'm always good first playthrough of something. I may do an evil thing or two but generally stay down the "righteous" path.

This is pretty much what I do in most games where you have these choices. Not always the "good" option, but I generally do follow that path.

Years ago there was a god sim on PC called Black and White. You could buy it regular price or you could buy a white box version that was $5 more and went towards charity.

good then evil through second playthrough.

actually more "neutral" first time around.

This is mostly from habit as i had found older games with morality systems usually had more content for the "good" path and i wanted to get as much content the first playthrough. That seems to be less of an issue now in modern games, so if i think im only going to get 1 playthrough, then evil.

it was a pretty neat little experiment. Was a peter molyneuax joint, so it had his classic trade mark of promise the world and under deliver. i still enjoyed it. you could really abuse your little avatar.

Got both the first and second and enjoyed them. It's the kind of game I think could find a rebirth if they polished it a good bit and brought it to VR.

That's me in pretty much any game where morality choices actually matter. Even if I try being evil in the beginning I generally revert back over the course of the game.

Both, though usually good through the first play through and then evil/amoral the second play through.
