Sorry for being an arse yesterday, shite is frustrating. Put all this money in and it just output nothing. sigh
lol
Ppl are suppose to be pretentious and then get called an arse for doing so on the internet.
Anyway, it sounds like a bent pin or RAM. I have a PSU tester I could ship you then ship it back if needed.

When I said that I meant for gaming. Of course there are many other things you can do with it but all I do is game.
Yea no doubt, I knew that.
Crazy thing is though, more and more ppl are gaming/streaming/watching movies/downloading shite while gaming now.
That is when the 8350 and 3770K smash the i5s. So when we say all we are doing is gaming.. it is starting to change a little, you know?

Yep. I went with a 3770K because it's $229 at the local MicroCenter. No brainer for me.
That is a crazy price. Payed like 330 for mine. I have never even seen a MicroCenter in person. Wish we had one within 60-80m of BR/NOLA area.

Worst part of a build.. seating the fckking heatsink. I hate installing and removing them.
Posted on 2/23/13 at 2:24 pm to LSU Coyote
few things I've noticed while dis-assembling.
- heat sink seemed a little loose (not related)
- heat sink glue seems almost dry rotted and old. you can see it kinda flaking off in I think the 2nd picture from the processor still seated
- pins on the processed and socket seem to be fine.
- in the pics there is a white connected on the mobo, nothing was plugged in there, I don't know how it would have come unplugged, but should there be?

Let me look at the sockets pins closly.. until then, please take of this "connector" or whatever that was not plugged in.
Have you tested the PSU though?

how should I test it?
here's the pin socket I'm referring to, it's right there in white next to that copper heat sink

that white fan header under on the side of the VRAM heatsink?
Posted on 2/23/13 at 2:43 pm to LSU Coyote
haha, my Skype options are limited to this PC we have disassembled.
yeh you're right, that's for the fan, all my fans already have power
ETA: I forgot to tell you something likely important in this troubleshooting process. About a week before I came home to this problem, when I would boot up the PC it cut on for 3 seconds , POST, die, then automatically cut back on, POST, die, the. after doing that twice would start up as normal. So, maybe you had it dead on the whole time. PSU? I dunno
so, cut on, die, cut on, die, cut on....just fine. BIOS or POST never indicated anything wrong. I haven't researched that weirdness myself.
Also, the only hardware changes I've made in months is the TP-Link 450Mbps Dual Band PCI Express Network Card I added so I didn't have to be wired across my apartment

As of right now I am still just gaming but I see what you are saying there.

How close is your microcenter? You can test PSUs with a pin but much easier and accurate with a real tester.
Microcenter probably sells the cheap thermaltake tester, which is like 10bucks.

Classic ram issue.
So you get NO post.. what I mean no post to even BIOS/setup?

I live in Midtown, Houston it's over near the galleria.
20 minutes. I got plans this evening, but tomorrow I can.
You think that's it? God Dammit why didn't I remember to tell you that from the get go.

Samsung monitor does not even recognize the connection. So no, certainly never saw BIOS/POST from either gfx card. Old 1GB NVideo and hopefully new badass 650ti
8GB of RAM, 2 in each socket. I've reseated multiple times
