I have seen this before. The results were surprising. Do you think that some of the theories on the comments may be correct like the mobo possibly not being an even setup?

There are more benchmarks out there by other people that show similar results. The only one way out of whack IMO is the Far Cry 3 one.

I have that chip Jeffo. I bought it because I stream on Twitch and the 8 cores are better for that and just video and 3D rendering in general. I use a program called Blender to do 3D models and this sucker kicks arse rendering them.

I bought it and this MOBO a few weeks ago

That MOBO is a monster and an overclockers dream.

I wonder if it is just the pure processing power the 8350 brings to the table. Now you are making me second guess the 3570k I just bought.

yeah... i guess i just needed to see, from someone who has used this new 8 core amd chip, if it was worth it for video editing.

sounds, and looks, like it is better than the i5. which i would of never guessed.

Nah. That's a good buy. I am an AMD fanboy for one plus like I said I do photoshop, 3d, and video stuff so an 8 core is really up my alley. It's just an added bonus that this chip is so powerful. The 8 core before this one wasn't nearly as nice.

Something like that.

Before this I had the 6200 6 core and I no doubt see a difference in rendering.

I was reading benchmarks on the 8310 earlier and the i5 was way ahead. I guess the 8350 took a big jump forward.

this is all very interesting, thanks.

seems the 8350 comes out ahead of the i5 when it comes to what the user will want to use this build for.

and its cheaper.

Now to decide on video card. Thinkin somethin with 2 or maybe even 3 Gb DDR5

Not sure if it applies to the 8350 but in general you want to pair amd CPUs with nvidia GPU's. for whatever reason there is a performance difference between the two because the radeons rely more in the CPU. However this may be out the windows with the 8350. I'll have the find the article that discusses this.

I think almost anyone who knew anything about building PCs here told you it wasn't the GPU.

GPUs just dont go out and if you cant post from the board's display ports it is something else in your system. TBH it could be bad RAM to bad PSU.
