Look, I think we can all agree that the Democrats are pretty evil for starting the KKK but...

I had no point, really. Just wanted to remind everyone that Democrats started the KKK and the whole party switch is a proven myth Dems started to distance themselves from their racist past.

???

Who gives a shite about Dems?

Just seemed like most of the posts in the thread seemed upset about killing the KKK. I thought we hated them.

I think you miss the point that most people are tired of politics and being preached to in games. This would have been more of that, considering Ubis past rhetoric.

Well, you clearly absorbed it as the writer intended. Because it said “including” the KKK, which means it’s a red herring.

Ten years ago the same writers clutched their pearls about the inclusion of KKK in RDR2 despite the fact they were nothing more than sideshow villains. …Now our progressive advocates have come full circle because a game was cancelled the included the KKK.

Killing KKK isn’t controversial, it the hypocritical goalpost changing that gets tiresome.

They would have been better off with a full remake of Assassins Creed: Liberation than this idea.

As a white conservative Christian southerner. I would have played this game.

Would have been cool. Much better than a black samurai

Give me a break. There’s politics in nearly every thing, even games, and has been for a while.

I also don’t think killing the Klan would qualify as being “preached at” unless seeing Klan members killed upsets you?

I mean what would you call sympathizing and not wanting to kill members of the KKK?

Seems pretty cut and dry to people with a brain.

Seems like you’re really twisting yourself into a pretzel just to call people on a video-game forum racist.

News flash: everyone to the right of 2008 Obama has been called racist a dozen times by now. It’s lost all meaning. Nobody cares anymore.

Try some new material. Or go back to Reddit.

think we could’ve all used a good a story about a black guy that hunts down reconstructionist southerners.

Until you cope with the fact that the south was run by democrats back then.

At the end of the day less than 2% of white americans owned slaves, and 12% of free blacks owned them. This is according to census data, which EVERYONE filled out back then. It was exciting to get any mail st all much less mail from your government asking for help with something.

The entire idea is stupid when reason is introduced, and solely based of feelings.

I mean you just called yourself a racist, not me.

At least no one confused you with having intelligence.

The issue wouldn't be portraying the reconstruction period, it would be HOW it would undoubtedly be done. It would be an over the top, preachy, historically inaccurate slop fest that would depict the south as completely evil.

True enough. This would have been better received if AC Shadows hadn't happened.

ETA: OR if AC Shadows had not included a black samurai with no basis in reality whatsoever.

No chance they'd have portrayed a black slave owner.

Imagine if they went full blown Django unchained? An open world ubisoft game for degens by degens would be epic.

My degrees were in history, specifically Post-Reconstruction Civil Rights history

As such, I would have loved to play that game

Sounds way more interesting than Shadows.

I'd be happy to gut some Klansmen with a wrist blade

I get why they canceled it, though
