If it makes you feel any better, it is probably more likely that they quit after inspecting your teams gear.
If you quit before the start, it does not count as a lost. So people are exploiting this to try and get favorable matches. A couple teams have done it to us on the PS4.
Pretty comical the amount of cheesing in this game.

Finally pulled the trigger and bought an XBone for Arkham Knight, least now I'll be able to play Destiny on it to once my free copy comes in, instead of on the 360.
