Was gonna make fun of Nintendo for doing an HD remake of a "newly released" game but double checked and realized it's been a decade since this came out. Holy shite.

It’s a Nintendo remake. You should definitely make fun of it regardless of how old the original release is

The one I never played. Oh wait. This one and Twilight Princess. Is that one being remade as well?

They did a remaster on Wii U. Would be surprised if they revisited it. But that would be great. Low key my favorite Zelda.

Twilight Princess and Wind Waker are rumored for Nintendo Switch in 2021

"For those disappointed with the Skyward Sword remaster, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are 100% coming this year," tweeted journalist Andy Robinson after the latest Direct presentation. "So that's at least one good 3D Zelda."

2021 is the Zelda series' 35th anniversary, so we wouldn't be surprised to see more games revealed later in the year.

I remember driving to a GameStop after getting off work as a 24yr old to purchase for the Wii.

Wow, I'm old.

Any more news on BOTW2?

3 day old article...
quote:

“I’m sure a lot of you saw me and thought there might be news to the sequel to the Breath of the Wild game.” Aonuma said, “Unfortunately, we don’t have anything to share right now. Development is proceeding smoothly and we should be able to bring you some information this year. For now, we’ll have to ask you to wait just a bit longer.”

In the meantime, Zelda fans can look forward to Skyward Sword HD which is coming to the Switch on July 16.

A potential release window?
Nintendo hasn’t given any release window for Breath of the Wild 2 but prominent leaker Emily Rogers has said on Twitter (via GamesRadar) that the sequel could arrive in the 2021 holiday season, saying there’s an “85-90% chance”.

85-90% chance that it releases around the holidays 2021. November 20, 2020

Skyward Sword is the only Zelda game I've never played. After hearing that it was pretty linear, the motion controls were awful, and it was just "ok" I never had the desire to get it. Watched Game Grumps play it though and even with Arin dogging it the whole time, it intrigued me enough to want to pick this up. Especially since there's no motion controls

To this day it's the only Zelda I've started and never finished. I put a solid 5-6 hours into it and the story just never grabbed me. I couldn't get over how tiny the world felt in comparison to pretty much every other Zelda.

Don't care for the motion controls but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. I just think the plot and world design are really weak for a Zelda game.

Having said the above, over the years I've learned Arin's opinion on game design is about as solid as tissue paper.

I’ve never beaten a Zelda game and haven’t played many of them. I sunk some serious time into Breath of the Wild, but have only beaten two of the sacred beasts.

I wouldn’t. This year is the Year of Zelda. I’ll be surprised if they just don’t rerelease the remakes they did on the Wii U (Wind Waker being the other). Basically no development time whatsoever, and they’d make tens of millions off of those two with minimal costs.

They haven’t exactly been shy about rereleasing Wii U games on the console. Luckily for Nintendo the Wii U had a solid game lineup, sold like shite, the Switch is one of the most successful consoles for a while, and they just rereleased those games that no one played on mass to just print money. Smash Ultimate is really just the Smash Wii U game with small tweaks made to its engine which is how we got an absolute frick ton of characters near the launch of the console.
