They would stop if people stopped buying them.

true, im sure it will print money for them. i dont know how people watch same movies multiple times let alone play video games multiple times.

shite its been 20 something years since kotor and im only mildly interested in the remake and the original is an all time favorite of mine.

I’m only mildly interested in this, but I’ll likely throw money at them, just as encouragement to keep releasing games to PC.

Ugh, remaster and remake are completely different. That's why they renamed it. This one is actually TLOU Part 1. Helps to differentiate that it's a full remake too.

TLOU Part 1 remake is using the TLOU2 engine. Rebuilt from ground up. It is not a remaster.

That is big for PC first timers where everyone disliked the PS3 engine original that is now 9 years old. That just remastered over to PC would be awful.

Modern TLOU2 engine is easy for PS5 obviously, and I'm sure much easier for PC as well.

You can upgrade a lot in 20 years. Also, wasn’t that game exclusive to Microsoft? That’s another good reason to remake that game

Looking at the side by sides during the reveal for LOU you couldn’t help but think what’s the point?

Huh? They bumped it up to 60 FPS even at 1440p.

Agreed, but could you imagine Dark Souls 1 with the Demons Souls treatment?

Maybe so but I'd really like for Uncharted 1-3 to run on the Uncharted 4 engine.

The first game would really benefit fro a ground up remake since it feels kind of barren in parts. Extending the Nazi facility would be cool too since that's when the game starts to really pick up but at the point it's basically over.

Uncharted 3 could also stand to get cleaned up as it just didn't flow as well during set pieces like Uncharted 2.

W/just give me back the multiplayer missions. I liked going on mission treasure hunts w/their own story lines in that one way better than what they did in 3 where everything felt like it was slapped together into little unrelated chunks.

A full on remake of Uncharted Golden Abyss would be cool too since that game was so constrained by being on Vita.

I agree. But there is also an HBO LoU series being filmed right now. That's going to introduce a shite ton of people to the games including gamers who never played them. Might as well have the game upgraded to all of the latest & greatest hardware to capitalize on any potential influx of players that the show might bring in.

the game is already free for new PS5 owners via the PlayStation Plus Collection. why would someone buy the "remake" when the remaster is "good enough"?

Because there will be a large market for it. Obviously the developers are making money off of remakes and remasters or they wouldnt keep doing it.

And gamers always want their games updated to the latest graphics & performance. shite, I played through the Mass Effect series multiple times and still bought the console version of the legendary edition on day one despite the games already receiving mutliple rereleases throughout the years. And I am strongly considering buying the PC version at some point because of the modding scene.

Us gamers are a weird fricking bunch when it comes to games that resonate with us

I know people who own five different copies of the same movie, so I don't think that's unique to gamers

As I've argued a few times before, I love remasters/remakes because it all but guarantees that those games will be playable on modern hardware for the foreseeable future. On the contrary, I have old original discs of games that are flat unplayable now, most recent I attempted was Black & White. Can't get past a crash at the end of the first island. I would absolutely buy a remaster of it, just so I know it will run.

I mean, I'm not sure if remaking 1-3 in UC4 engine would be all that beneficial.

The biggest improvement was the pacing of story elements to combat to puzzle solving.

There was still a lot of shooting, but it wasn't balls to the walls shooting galleries broken up by 2-3 set piece puzzles.

If the original games were remade with the UC4 engine, they'd basically be the same thing just with prettier graphics unless they changed the plot.

so there are some "remastered" vs "remake" videos going around on youtube. the remake looks better in some scenes while the remaster looks better. not sure if it's worth the cost of a "remake".

IGN comparison

Random Comparison

will i be getting 144fps at 1440p?

that might make up for it.

I mean, it looks like a remaster of the remaster not a remake
