I'm pretty sad about the last season of Walking Dead.

You've played one you've played them all. Good games IMO but repetitive.

You infest that heavily into those IPs and you're gonna have issues.

I mean, I understand what you're going for, but can we draw a line of distinction between games like Heavy Rain and Life is Strange and the Telltale games?

Why did they keep putting out Minecraft ones?

Because they make money.

Telltale's mistake was going after big IPs like Batman and Guardians of the Galaxy.

He's saying that the TellTale Minecraft games are likely what sells best for them, not that they sell well enough to keep the entire company afloat, which had several projects in development.

This just sounds like really poor project planning and management. I'm sad to see them go. I know point and click adventure games' time has largely come and gone, but I liked knowing they were one of the few companies still carrying that torch.

Was the Batman version any good? I have contemplated getting it for the switch but haven't pulled the trigger yet

What DieDaily said. They haven't had a big hit in quite some time.

I enjoyed it. Typical Telltale game. Decent story, and you spend a lot of time as Bruce if you are interested in that. You can even choose to approach certain situations as either Bruce or Batman. I’m disappointed that it’s dead now.

good riddance, their games are trash.

idk why people acting like they are the only company that makes game like that. the developers of Life is Strange and Until Dawn make the same style of games but better.

i definitely wouldve kept buying every game of thrones episode they came out with tho, i cant help it

hear it's their own fault. sucks for the people that actually did the work.

It's the executives fault for bad decisions. But the way they laid people off was horrible. 250 people let go. No severance

You're not in the minority. That's why this studio is shutting down.

People have been trying to make these horrible "choose your own adventure" story based games happen for decades.

The early CD-ROM era was infested with them. Garbage then, garbage now.

I thought any company larger than like 100 people that performed layoffs was legally bound to provide some form of severance? I’ve never been a part of layoffs or been in a failing company so obviously there are ways around that.

They didn’t perform layoffs. The business closed. Of course they could offer severance, but aren’t required to.

I find it funny the people who go out of their way to come in here and spew shite about something they didn’t like. Crazy how you take the time to post about something that supposedly sucked hard.

The games were inexpensive and you could spend 8-10 hours going through a whole season. I’ve played multiple AAA games priced at $60 that were much shittier than anything Telltale ever put out

The era of live action FMV. I miss those days. "So much action it's on 4 CDs!"

I'm with you. Especially since the decisions you make ultimately have little to no impact on the overall direction of the story. I'm not saying I should have been allowed to save everyone in GoT, but at least make it feel like I can.

Telltale is exploring options from partners to finish TWD final season in some form or another

Yeah, I don't think I ever spent more than $10 on any of them. They were basically interactive comic books but they were a nice palate cleanser after grinding through another game.

Final season is being finished

quote:

The next episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be out on January 19, Skybound Games announced at today's Kinda Funny Games Showcase. You can watch a trailer for episode three, called Broken Toys, above.

The developer picked up the rights to the game following the majority studio closure of Telltale Games in September. Telltale closed for good last month—but a team of around 40 of its developers, known as the Still Not Bitten team, have been helping Skybound finish off The Final Season.

Skybound Games is part of Robert Kirkman's Skybound Entertainment. Kirkman was the creator of the original Walking Dead comics.

A fourth and final episode is due out at a later date.
