I spent a fair amount of time hammering out iron daggers when I got the game

So sneaking is best with a dagger? Just sneak behind someone with the dagger and hit RT for an assination? Can I not do it with a sword/mace too?

Best advice I can give when you're first starting off is don't pick up everything you see. It's tempting because you can, but it really isn't worth the hassle carrying it all back to a store to sell. You'll find plenty of gold.

As someone with the game on 360 and PC...this.

It was fun enough on 360 but PC is where it shines. Mod the shite out of it and have a field day.

Although I would argue that sneak/archery is the best combo in the game.

The easiest way to level up conjuring is to get to a place where there are enemies, they can see you, but they can't attack you, and keep conjuring swords.

Also, don't sell soul gems, just collect them. After you hit about level 15, enchant every single piece of equipment you pick up off bandits and sell it.

That became an annoying part of collecting this stuff. Finding merchants with enough gold to buy it all.

With the right perks, dagger is the way to go. With or without the DB shrounded gloves or handwraps - (although those obviously double your) backstab again, the top stealth damage multiplier is 15x and only applies to daggers - no brainer. I end up dual-wielding a lot (and I don't use the Blade of Woe after I get matching Daedric daggers, but it is probably slightly better) - until I start carrying a spell in the off hand.

It was fun sneaking up on landed dragons and killing them in one hit.

There gets to be a point, especially if you have your Smithing, Conjuring, Enchanting, and One Handed all the way up that it breaks the game.

I actually beat all of the DLC before I finished the main story line. Two permanent Storm Atronachs and two dragon bone swords with the Chaos enchantment with health absorption while wearing almost 2000 rated armor makes you unstoppable.

I was in that group that got Dawnguard pushed to me when I didn't even want it (or pay for it) - I ultimately took it back off and am working through the game again (I never finished the first time).

The recommended order is to do all the group quest lines (at least the ones you intend to complete), then the main story, then the Civil War last.

As was said, with the right perks, yes. One perk in the sneak tree grants 15x damage when hidden and attacking with dagger. If sneak is maxed out, another perk turns you invisible for a brief moment when in combat, when you crouch, making you hidden. So, if you attack right after, 15x damage and it will do that cut scene a lot of the time. Takes some practice to get the hang of it, but it is a lot of fun once you do.

Also, If you do get the ancient shrouded Dark Brotherhood armor, it will max the damage multiplier to 30x. So, if you have a powerful dagger, you are God

Yeah - I have Daedric daggers, unenchanted, doing 286 - so, backstab goes 8530, with shrouded (*2), dagger and hidden (*15).

It really is a blast doing that play style. You can stick to sneaking and being the quiet assassin, knowing you'll usually get a 1 hit kill, or you can stroll through like a badass, smiting all who cross your path.

I've got a Daedric dagger as well. I think I put a soul binding enchantment on it just for fun. I'll usually have some type of magic in my off hand.

My last game I did that with 1 of the 2. The other one I did an absorb health (like Blade of Woe) - this game for whatever reason, I have more filled soul gems than I know what to do with. I still farm them with a soul trapping Daedric bow (which is probably common) - I like the controlled approach to soul gem farming - but I get distracted with all the extra magic up close and personal. I guess I should go ahead and add absorb health to my primary dagger - I certainly have enough gems to keep that recharged.

My tactic has always been to work up my bow and sneak to become a lethal assassin. I love picking off a group of enemies with one-shots at a distance.

I could never get into the bow. My friend does it almost exclusively though. I can see where some would find it fun. I like getting up close and personal.

I also made a character that uses nothing but his fists. Get some enchanted gauntlets and just punch a dragon to death

Pro tip: there's a little witch's house near Falkreath called Anise's Cabin

Go there, kill that ho, and her bed becomes available... Also in her basement is an achemy table

Basically ransack her place for a free house you can store everything in AND fast travel to... Really good for hoarding all of your soul gems and dragon bones (never ever ever fricking sell these)
