He says that slinging around the city and combat are excellent, as are the (relatively few) boss battles. Claims the story isn't good and that there isn't much going in terms of interesting sidequests. Has a decent amount of "go to this tower" type missions.
I'm excited to give it a try, but I'll probably wait until it hits ~$30 or so. I have plenty enough to hold me over until then (few more hours of God of War, Uncharted 4, Gravity Rush 2, RDR2 when that comes out).

Yeah. Story, Gameplay, Graphics, and Combat all praised for the most part.
Repetive side activities seem to be an issue though. Supposedly the gameplay is so fun that it makes you forget about it.
Considering I can get this for like 40 bucks I’m stoked.

i was skeptical of this because i heard how lame the open world is, but the EasyAllies review sold me. Looks fun

loved the Spyros and Ratchets (god, what a blast the 2016 Ratchet was), but the Resistances were trash and I hated Sunset Overdrive. dont think I made it 2 hours in
Insomniac isn't some "trust no matter what" developer. looks like they hit it with this tho. I'll pick it up some time.

My opinion as well. I think this is more a nostalgia trip than anything regarding the hype.
If Spider-Man games had been pumped off as often as other titles then it wouldn’t be receiving the praise/hype it’s getting.
With that, I will still buy the game for nostalgia alone
