I’m rocking a 1060 right now, what are you looking for?
Was in the market for a 3080, but Sally just destroyed us here in Fairhope and funds got deviated to repairs. Such is life

This is just sick.

PC gamers everywhere tried and failed to buy Nvidia’s RTX 3080 graphics card today as units quickly sold out. But not everyone came up empty.
A group of resellers scored the RTX 3080 ahead of average consumers, thanks to an automated bot, which was capable of ordering dozens of units from Nvidia’s website instantly.
The resellers have been taking to social media to praise the bot’s creator, Bounce Alerts, a group devoted to helping its members score early access to retail products, such as sneakers, so they can be resold at higher prices.

Damn, very similar to the bots I used to use when I did the same for Yeezys a couple years ago. I'd get 20 pairs of Yeezys while I was sleeping, at msrp $220 and flip for $800+ each.
Was pretty easy tbh.

With a GPU launch this hyped, of course the limited stock was gonna sell, and of course the scalpers were gonna use bots to aid in buying as much stock as they could.
The issue wasn't bots, the issue was forced scarcity. Samsung could never keep up close to what was needed right now on their 8nm process. Watched a few youtubes yesterday and people were irate stores werent even getting them.
Dawid does tech lives near Vancouver - not a small city, he went to a computer store to get in line, was 3rd person in line, waited for over an hour till store opened, he didnt get one because they only had TWO total 3080's (both Zotac ones, ew). He went to the other major computer store in Vancouver, they got ZERO 3080's. So in all of Vancouver major computer stores, they got 2 RTX 3080's. He didnt check best buy or anything, but figured by then they would be sold out anyways, he couldnt believe the 2 major computer stores in Vancouver collectively only got 2 RTX 3080's.
This was a paper launch basically and forced scarity as some predicted by Nvidia. They probably just wanted to be first well ahead of AMD with big navi. I bet it will be hard to get your hands on a 3080 even if you tried very hard for the next month (NOT on the overpriced 2nd hand market).
I will say I love the trolls on ebay pushing up the prices to $50k on those cards to troll the flippers and make it as hard as they can on them to actually sell those cards.

It was both. Read the article I posted. Yes - barely any brick and mortar stores had them. Microcenter was probably one of the few that actually a decent number.
But the bots doing that shite are just nuts.

Bingo - Nvidia even privately said this.

PNY RTX3080 in stock on Dell's website...
Went through the process to see how long it would take to received it...10/27 would be the delivery date. A month and a half is crazy

So the 3090 is just 10% faster than the 3080? OOF.
NVIDIA RTX 3090 Gaming Benchmarks Leaked: Just 10% Faster than the RTX 3080
Apparently Nvidia is now saying it isn't for gamers. Prosumer card.

Thats pathetic for $1500, why did they say it was a gaming card? Makes no sense. Obviously a Titan replacement for a bit cheaper.

I’m thinking the 3080 ti will be the equivalent of a 1080 ti on longevity. You’ll be good for a very long time.

Typical Nvidia schtick
It's the best card you can buy so they price it that way. Sadly it's worse than the 2080ti shenanigans

Yeah, the 3080 was already a much better buy but even more so now.

The real difference is the vram, it’s going to eat the 3080’s lunch in substance painter and doing renders. Gaming won’t be much different unless it’s a really bad GPU bound game.

Eh the price isn’t bad for people who actually need that vram. The 3D industry is licking their lips for this pricing. It’s gonna be a highly desired card. The 3080 got priced right, people need to look at the 3090 as a titan replacement, I don’t think they should have given it the 3090 name.

So is Ampere disappointing? More and more negative stuff coming out.
Adored ripped into their decision to stick with Samsung despite all their problems. Nvidia's Dumbest Decision
Once they lost the TSMC bid what could they do though really?
